I feel really pretty after shopping at beauty.com.

Originally, I went onto the Beauty.com website in order to get a $15 discount (spend $50 or more dollars, get the discount). I needed a birthday present for a friend, so this turned out to be a great thing. I was planning on ordering through Sephora, but I dont pass up a good deal when I see it.
Beauty.com is owned by the website Drugstore.com. The sites are linked together and if something is available on drugstore.com that is not available through beauty.com, then you can still purchase it. This is a nice thing because it offers more products, but you have to be careful. With buying products on drugstore.com, you may not be eligible for beauty.com discounts.
The site is well organized. With sections for makeup, fragrance, skin care, bath and body, haircare, accessories and gifts (plus a brands section) it is easy to browse.
Once you click upon a section, there are different options. You can browse based on 5-star reviews or top sellers. Or you may browse on the basis of what you want (for example in the makeup section you can look for bronzers and highlighters, eyes, lips, face, nails or palettes). Once you choose a category there are more options (for example, in the lips section there are choices for Balm, Lip Sun Protection, Gloss, Lip Treatments
Lip Pencils, Lipstick, Lip Polish, Tools & Brushes. There are also options for 5-star reviews and Top Sellers once you get in there as well).
Once you finally get to the products, there are many options to organize for more successful browsing. You can browse by brand. You could just look at products from A-Z. There is the option to look based on price or based on savings or average customer rating. There are a lot of options to find what you want.
Also, there is a search feature. So if you have something specific in mind, you can easily find it.
The website also keeps track of recently viewed items and recently searched topics. That way, if you are distracted and end up going back later, you can easily go back to things you were looking at before. There is also a neat thing called Your List. With this, you can keep track of items that you have purchased through the website. That way, you dont have to go searching. It is quite convenient if you use the website to purchase items on a regular basis.
The website has a good selection of brands. Most notable are philosophy, NARS, DuWop, Christian Dior, amongst others. There is a complete list on the website, and you are able to shop by brand.
The selection is not as good as Sephora, though. Beauty.com does have most of the brands that are carried at Sephora, but there are not as many specific items as Sephora. An example would by the philosophy 3-in-1s. Sephora has the new Pina Colada 3-in-1, while beauty.com does not. Sephora has the Chocolate Chip Cookie 3-in-1, beauty.com does not. There are a lot of brands, but some of the specific products just arent there.
Payment is available by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and Diners Club Cards.
Shipping rates are as follows (from the beauty.com website);
Standard Shipping: $5.49 or free w/$49 purchase
3-Day Shipping: $8.95 or free w/$49 purchase
2-Day Shipping: $14.95
Overnight Shipping: $29.95
Beauty.com ships via UPS. Additional charges will apply for international orders.
In addition, the website does have a Satisfaction Guaranteed promise. If you are not satisfied, you may return your item(s) for a credit or a refund. If the error was a result of the website, you do not have to pay the return postage fee, otherwise that fee will apply.
My experience
As I said, I had a discount. One thing proved to be rather difficult. I did not find a place to put in the discount and I accidentally placed my order without getting my $15 off. Needless to say, I was angry. So I called the 800 number and ended up talking to a Customer Service Representative. He ended up giving me a $15 refund once I explained my situation. This was very nice of him to do.
I purchased three items: a philosophy foot kit and two philosophy 3-in-1s. I opted for standard ground shipping.
I ended up getting my package 8 days after I ordered it (this was ground shipping and it came from New Jersey, when I live in Arizona). The entire time, I was able to track the item using the ups.com website, since I did have a tracking number).
Once I got the box, I was happy to see that the Foot Kit was wrapped in a separate box (since it was a gift and I had to wrap it). My 3-in-1s were together in a beauty.com back. The entire thing was packaged very well and nothing leaked or broke. I was very happy with my purchase.
Beauty.com is a truly excellent online shopping experience. They have a good selection, though not the best. The site is fast and well organized. There are many options for browsing and shopping on the site in general. I would recommend it for anyone who wants beauty products galore. With good customer service and good products, beauty.com is a really great site.
