About Wrapables - The Company
Founded in 2003,
Wrapables.com is a fairly young company that has received lots of attention from various media outlets due to their unique and hard-to-find product offerings. Specialities include Home Decor, Bed and Bath, and Dining and Entertainment.
I'm guessing that you've probably not heard of
Wrapables.com. I only know of the site because I accidentally backed into it through a product I was looking for.
The easiest way for me to describe this online store to you is to compare it to others that you might be familiar with - take
Gooseberry Patch,
Linens-n-Things, and
Comfort House and roll them together in one - but - then scale it down to the size of a boutique.
About the Site
Wrapables.com is pleasant to look at and easy to move around. As always, I hit the
Sale area first just to see what they meant by "sale". At the time, they were having an after holiday sale and I was able to find a variety of fun things to purchase that weren't attached to specific holidays.
About the Products
You're going to find that the products are
boutique-ish. That means, the quality isn't going to be that of a
Walmart - don't expect 1.99 deals!
The pictures they furnish with their products are large and clear. My only recommendation for them is that they may want to add more views of the product. For instance, in one case, I was looking at an item where there were multiple views (which helped me with my purchasing decision). With another product, I was not able to view the product from another angle - this left me with some unanswered questions, so I decided not to purchase the item. While I could have contacted customer service - I'm one of those self-service types who like to explore and find the answer on my own.
Their inventory is real-time so you should have no issue with ordering something and then finding out that it isn't in stock.
About the $$$
* Products are priced mid-range in comparison to competitors. As always, you get much luckier at times of giant sales!
* At the time I purchased my gifts, shipping was $5 flat - regardless of the number of products.
* Your payment options are - Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express; paypal; electronic checks; wire transfers; checks; gift certificates.
* Sales tax is not included unless you are in California.
* There is a 30 day money back guarantee on their products. Returns are handled through a standard Return Merchandise Authorization process.
Purchasing and Shipping
At the time you decide to purchase, you can choose to register. I did so that I could reap the benefit of tracking my package.
As I mentioned before - there was a flat $5 shipping charge - regardless of the number of items that you ordered.
I paid by Paypal - and they've integrated quite nicely into these feature.
After my order had been submitted, I did receive a confirmation notice and then once the products were shipped, a shipping notice also.
Results
I was pleased with the amount of time it took for the package to arrive to my home (approximately three business days) and it was packaged appropriately, given the various shapes and sizes of products that I ordered.
I had no need to interact with Customer Service because my entire experience - from browsing through receipt of products - was seamless. Should I have the need to shop for an off-beat type item, like those offered at
Wrapables.com, I won't hesitate to use their store again.
