Bought a replacement battery for my Gateway MT3421 Laptop.  Free shipping made this the best buy, also other reviews looked good.

I've now used the battery for a cross country trip and it works great.

SUGGESTION:  Read the "manual" that comes with the battery to "break it in" correctly and (hopefully) extend the battery life.

The battery arrived quickly however after installing the battery I used my laptop 2 times and heard a pop sound and the laptop went dead. I did not even think it could have been the new battery that I purchased. I thought the laptop just died so I did not use the laptop for a couple of months until I got enough money to have it repaired. When I took it to be repaired the service person informed me that the battery was no good and that it was an after market battery that he did not recommend. I contacted West Coast Power and they said that it was out of warranty. Basically they sold me junk. I will not purchase from them again. Buyer beware, only get manufacturers batteries!!

One comment is that I ordered a battery for my HP laptop. The website (and referral from amazon) made it sound like it was an HP battery - not a generic. I was definitely surprised when it was a generic. This needs to be clear on the site.
