When I ran out of a product for women that I really need/enjoy (Oona), I came to the epinions site to see if they had advertisers' links for the product that I was unaware of. I wanted to see if I could save money on the product. There were several links for webvitamins. I wasn't familiar with them so decided to check them out. I was very pleased to see they carried Oona for about $5.00 less than the other site from which I purchased it in the past. For the heck of it, I decided to see if they also carried Levity made by Geneva (this is a natural mood enhancer). I was amazed to see they carried this unusual product also, and I would save about $3.00! Call me one happy camper.
Okay, on to WebVitamins. Who are they? They are privately owned. Their president, Dr. Montague has been in the business of nutritional supplements for over 20 years. Their Vice President, Mr. Amarante, dealt with a disabling illness so knew/experienced benefits of nutritional supplements from his own condition and motivated him to promote reasonably priced vitamins, herbs, minerals and other supplements (this is paraphrased from the website of course). They note that they carry the largest selection of vitamins and herbs, but additionally are committed to provide the lowest prices in the industry (and from my experience, they do).
The website:
The site is among the easiest to navigate I have run into, and I think the whole process of finding the two products I wanted, ordering, and leaving the site, had to be under 7 minutes. It was a piece of cake!
The home page enables you to shop either by category or by brand.
Some of the categories:
*Antioxidants
*C Vitamins
*Calcium
*Diet/Appetite
*Chondroitin
*Immune system
Multivitamins & Minerals
*Personal care
*Skin care
and more
Some of the brands:
*Country life
*Futurebiotics
*Natrol
*Schiff
*Twinlab
*Primal defense
and more
Additionally, there are links at the top for my favorites, specials; when I returned to the site to get information for my review, it reminded me that I had last looked at Oona and Levity. On the left you will find my account, help support (advises you on how to shop and use of the cart), information such as security & privacy, shipping information, payment methods, terms and conditions, about them, and how to contact them.
Search engine:
There is a box for advanced search on the top of the home page. It works. It really works! I input OOna, the product I wanted to purchase, and it came up right away. For the heck of it, I input the more general word "diet" and it came up with 9 pages of products along with the price.
Beyond vitamins:
Some products they offer that caught me by surprise:
pet products, flower essences, kids vitamins/herbs, loofahs, massage sandals, etc.
Payment options:
You can make your purchases using your MasterCard, Visa or Discover, check or money order.
Shipping choices:
For domestic shipping, everything up to $150 is $4.95 for standard shipping. Postal delivery is $5.95 as well as UPS ground. International shipping charges are determined for each order. More details are available at the website.
If you are ordering over $150, your shipping will be free. I know. Big deal.
Security:
I have been very pleased with my online experiences. Several years of ordering online, and no horror stories at all. Not even any real disappointments, but I do know some people are hesitant.
WebVitamins offers the use of a server that is secure therefore all information entered is encrypted (Secure Socket Layer-SSL). In other words your information is safe.
My experience:
As mentioned previously I found what I wanted instantly. If you want to read more details about a product you can click on the link, and you will be able to read a description such as hypoallergenic, and other information to help you decide if the product is what you are looking for. You will also find suggested use, ingredients, other ingredients, if applicable, and what it
does not contain and any possible warnings.
They note brand, form (such as tablet, capsule), the serving size, number of servings; they'll show you the retail price, and your price. Your price is in very large numbers. Love that with my over 40 vision! You can also add it to your favorites list if you like.
When I found what I wished to order, and it was immediately, I placed the products in a cart, the quantity I wanted. I received a total. They emailed me a copy of my order. I was also emailed when they were about to ship my order. My shipment was received on a very timely basis, and packaged carefully in a box.
Overall thoughts and recommendations:
I am so glad I found WebVitamins through epinions, and plan on ordering from them on a regular basis in the future. They carry popular brands, and some hard-to-find brands/products. The site is very easy to navigate; I ran into no error messages whatsoever. They did everything they promised to do. The only complaint I have is that there is just free shipping for orders over $150. I doubt I will ever spend that much at their site, so I guess I will never receive free shipping. On the other hand, the prices are great, I had no need for customer service, the shipment was received right when I expected it. I am giving WebVitamins 5 stars. I am very, very satisfied. Go look them over. You won't be disappointed!
