If you aren't rushed and don't care when the plants arrive you might want to consider them. They have lots of very unique plants you can't find anywhere else, but their shipping is LOUSY!
Yes, spring time is busy for planting, but that is no secret and Wayside needs to staff accordingly if they are going to be successful at internet sales.
They don't disclose it on their web site but in house they have a 3-5 day shipping policy. So even if you pay for their 2 day Fedex service it might be 5 business days before they actually give it to Fedex.
On Friday morning (just over 2 days into my order) the customer service person told me the plants had been pulled for shipment and were in the shipping department. She said it should go out that day.
On Saturday, I find out about the 3-5 day policy and am again told it has been pulled for shipment. "It should go out Monday or Tuesday..." Only seconds later, "it may have already been shipped but we won't know until the status gets changed..."
Given enough time I'm sure the roses will arrive, but this is NOT and internet ready company. They don't have tight control on orders to know exactly what is going on with them. They certainly don't staff to handle the spring rush of shipping.
