Bottom line, Vitacost no longer cares about their customers. A few years ago I would have gladly given them a good rating. I told all my friends of their products and even would help in their ordering. That's all changed. Vitacost sucks and I will no longer do business with them. Those who have submitted positive reviews, I seriously doubt have placed very many orders or their orders were very small. From personal experience, I have encountered Vitacost getting worse and worse to the point that it's no longer worth the aggravation. Missing items, long delays in delivery, no email communication, and their cold & hard customer service has finally been enough! Vitacost advertises quick shipping and clearly states on their website the items are in stock. This is a total lie! They really hold up your order indefinitely, waiting until they can ship everything all at once. Sometimes you have to wait for weeks. No email or other communication is made asking the customer if that is acceptable. Their labeling is becoming more deceptive as well. Listing milligram quantities in large lettering on their NSI products, but in reality it takes multiple servings to reach that advertised amount. Be smart and buy elsewhere.

Never give them your credit card info. They sold my info to Shopping Essentials, who billed me 15 bucks a month for 3 months before I caught it. My card had to be canceled and reissued. Good thing is, my card company knew about this scam and immediately credited what I'd paid back to my account.
Of course Vitacost denied any wrong doing, saying I enrolled when I chose to fill out a survey for a coupon. I spoke directly with Shopping Essentials who offerred immediate cancelation. Both outfits are well aware of what they are up to. |

I placed an order for over $200 on October 25, 2008. Eventhough the web site adversites Same Day Shipping, as of today, November 9, 2008 no items have been shipped. Eight items were changed from available to backordered AFTER order was placed. Currently VitaCost is projecting a 50+ day wait. While I wait, more items get placed on backorder. I just spoke with Customer Service and they refused to cancel the order. They offered to ship in multiple shipments; but I will be charged $4.99 for EACH shipment. This could end up costing me over $40 in shipping charges.

I have used Vitacost as my prime vendor for vitamins and supplements for about 5 years. Until recently I was exceptionally happy with them in terms of selection, price, service and delivery.
But this year their service and delivery have gone totallt down the sewer. More and more they don't have the advertised products in stock, and demand that if you want them to ship the portion(s) of an order that they do miraculously have in stock you must agree to let them charge you a separate shipping charge for each item (or set of items) as they become available or the won't ship until every item is in stock (which may be 60 days or more depending on their estimated times of arrival). They rely on the fact that when you place an order you probably have a need and will let thewm get away with additional shipping charges - which in the case of my current order could cost me as much as 4 times their advertised shipping rate. It is unacceptable to have them make the customer pay for their inability to maintain their inventory. |

Delivery time was fast, prices are very low, but the customer support is horrible. I can see that I am not the only customer who has had no response to the "customer service" emails. I have sent at least six emails regarding questions or concerns about orders and have never received a response. I understand they probably handle alot of incoming emails, but at least don't put the BS slogan of "We pledge to respond to every email within 24 hours" on their website. Their prices are hard to beat, but I'm getting tired of being ignored, looking around for other discount stores.

I am extremely satisfied with Vitacost. Delivery is good, I haven't had many problems with products being out of stock. Prices are good. I am usually able to talk to a rep fairly quickly and they are always very helpful. Keep up the great work.

Finding lower prices on various vitamins and personal care items at vitacost.com, I ordered several items, including a 3-pack of soap. When I received my package, however, there was only one soap. I emailed the customer service department at vitacost.com, and quickly received a reply, ensuring me that my remaining two soaps would be delivered shortly.
I received the second package, and there was, again, only one soap inside. Again, I emailed the customer service department at vitacost.com, this time not receiving an immediate reply. A couple of days later, I resent the email, then just decided to call them. To their credit, I didn't have to wait on hold long and the customer service representative was friendly and seemed to be in America (I hate outsourced call centers). They did send out the final soap. I will not order from them again. |

While delivery time was wonderful, if you have a problem or question Vitacost gives an email address for "customer support". I have sent three emails and never received a response. A company with such pitiful "customer service" is useless to me. If they don't want customers emailing then they should not provide this information calling it "customer support". I don't have time during the day to call and it is more efficient to email. I searched and I found that I can purchase the same merchandise elsewhere so..................... Bye bye Vitacost. |

After some price comparison shopping around the internet, I settled on VitaCost for my purchase. When my product arrived damaged from the shipping company, I was disappointed. However, things quickly turned around. I emailed regarding a replacement and with a few concerns that I had about the return policy. I promptly received a polite reply asking that I call in order to receive the best service. I called the 800 number and the customer service representative arranged for my product to be picked up by UPS at my home and for a new product to be shipped to me. Amazing! It couldn't have been easier and I couldn't be happier. Amazing customer service. Thank you Vitacost,I will certainly be looking to you for future purchases.looking to you for future purchases.

I thought their on line service was very user friendly. The products were packed well and in excellent shape when received. The prices were very good and considerably less than in a vitamin store. The customer service employee that took my order over the phone was much nicer than any salesperson you would meet in a walk-in store. I found my new place to shop for Vitamins!!

I really appreciate having such a huge selection of products from so many different catagories to choose from. It's so much easier to shop from home, and so much less expensive than purchasing them from the stores in our city. I love how reasonable Vitacost's shipping costs are, too, and how quickly the products always arrive. Whoever started Vitacost had a great idea, and it seems to be managed very well.

My last two shopping experiences with VITACOST have been TERRIBLY UNACCEPTABLE. They list everything as IN STOCK. The FIRST ORDER TOOK ALMOST 3 WEEKS TO DELIVER, due to their BACK ORDER policy. They hold shipments if an item is not in stock. This first order was HELD because a FREE BOOKLET was not in stock! The SECOND ORDER NEVER DELIVERED. IT'S NOW BEEN ALMOST A MONTH. The reason being, again, OUT OF STOCK. During the phone order process I even told them DO NOT ORDER ANY ITEM THAT IS OUT OF STOCK because I don't want the shipment held. I did a phone order to be able to access the waived shipping due to the first terrible shopping experience. So, the order has never been delivered and the refund is taking 10 days plus to process...if it ever does get processed. Customer service is manipulative and evasive. I agree with the other review about FRAUDULENT AND DECEITFUL and WILL NOT SHOP WITH VITACOST AGAIN and I've been a customer for years.

I tried a couple of their products and found one had the inner safety seal gone. I tried calling but never got thru. I e-mailed telling them about it but never got any response. I would not want to take the chance of using this product in it's condition. Their customer service is horrible. I would never shop here again.

I have had similar problems to previous reviewers with their ordering process. I tried to change my order but the order was duplicated instead and I got charged twice. Despite sending an immediate email to their customer service people and then following up with a call, they insisted that the duplicate order must have been deliberate (despite the fact that the shipping costs were significantly higher than the price of the items ordered) and refused to allow me to return the goods and refund the costs.

This store lists its products as "IN STOCK," regardless whether they have them in stock or not. I just received an email that my entire order of $507 is on back order because they don't know when they'll get the products from the manufacturers. This is FRAUD, plain and simple! Their prices are low, and, in the past, I have received my orders within a week or 2. But I will not give my business to a company that uses fraudulent and deceitful business practices to lure customers.

Great that I can get these products over the i-net rather than driving as we are far from the nearest place that sells this particular brand. The price was great too; as even with shipping included, and there customer service is so above par of everyone else out there, and it was still cheaper than what I pay at the healthfood store! Plus I dont have to use the gas to drive there. Will be searching your site more to see if there are any other products we can use.
