Their prices are low. BUT you have to be very careful not to fall for the "Get Free Shipping on this order" trick. If you read the fine print, you are signing up for an expensive membership. It is a bit hard to avoid and the confirmation emails have a link to this "free shipping rebate", not to order details.

I have been successful at avoiding this trap, but now a new deception is a work at Vitacost.com. They show all the items in my order as ready to ship, but then notify me that 1 or 2 items are not in stock. The idea is to split the order and pay double for shipping. I keep notifying them that my items are listed as “in stock, ships within 24 hours, but nothing ships out. It’s been a month now. I don’t think they are ever going to ship my order, unless I allow it to be split-up

Also, I can confirm that the products reviews are fake. I gave a favorable product review, but warned about the disingenuous “in stock” info. It didn’t get published. Customer service is very slow and is hesitant to respond to this issue.
