I bought vitamins from this company. Much to my surprise, I was signed up for an automatic deduction of $14.95 per month from my bank account for some "shopping service". When I noticed the charge on my bank statement, I called the phone number listed on my bank statement for this shopping service, and they told me I had signed up through Vitacost's web site, and offered to credit my bank account. I try to be very vigilant about not clicking on pop-ups or banners that sign me up for things I do not want or need, but apparently Vitacost's web site was designed to make it pretty darn easy to sign up for this service when you don't mean to. I called Vitacost to complain and was told "I was an adult and should have read it better". I bet a lot of people miss this because the amount is small enough you may not notice it being siphoned from your bank account each month. If you have shopped online at Vitacost, check your bank statement carefully for charges from AP9*ShoppingEssential. This experience makes me think Vitacost is more interested in making the fast buck (Im sure they get a nice cut of this) than in building good will for future business. It makes me question not only their business practices, but also the products they sell. I don't want to buy my vitamins from a "make a quick buck" company.
