I placed an order with VitaCart on 3/6. A message was left at my home five business days later that an item in my order was out of stock. Of course this was not indicated when I placed the order. The only option given was to call back within two days or the order would ship without that item. No other attempt was make to contact me via email or follow up call.
I didn't receive the message until five days later (roommate communication issue) but on that very day I received a second email invoice that was a duplicate of my first invoice indicating to me that the item was now in stock and would be shipped. The next day I received an new invoice, sans the "out of stock" item and in the subject line it said the order was shipped. NOt two days after that phone call, but six.
Here are my big issues. First of all, every available effort should be made to contact a customer. Second, more options should be available. For example, the herb I wanted come in four quantities. Whey was I not offered a different quantity? Third, invoices give NO INFO! They have a link to "check the status of your order" which takes you to a page with another copy of the same invoice. Um, "status" indicates information. Therefor, you don't really know what is going on with your order.
And my biggest problem of all is that I payed $18 dollars for ONE bottle of vitamins. I payed $7 dollars for shipping, for the prvilage of waiting 11 business days for my incomplete order to even ship. That is ridiculous!! I am a thrifty spender so when I order vitamins and meds on line, I factor in the shipping and calculate the cost per pill to see if it's worth the money. So I ended up paying double per pill than I had bargained for and I still don't have the herbs that my husband needs because I can only get then on line.
This was hands down the worst online buying exspeiance I have had in eight years.
