Online shopping seems an exercise in compromise. It's almost impossible to find everything that I want: price, quality, and service. So, when I am fortunate enough to find a company that delivers it all, I am always happy to take the time to write up a review. This time, the company that has earned my praise is Visual Apex, located at http://www.visualapex.com/.

I started searching for a 100" projector screen. I made my way to BestBuy.com, where I found the Elite Screen, Model VMAX100UWH2. It was exactly what I wanted, but (a) the price was $499, (b) expedited shipping was an additional $118, and (c) the estimated delivery date was 11 Jan. I knew I could do better with a little web searching, so I logged on and started to look. I found the same screen several places, but far and away the best price was at Visual Apex. At $354, it seemed too good to be true. I did a bit of research, though, and discovered that Visual Apex is more than a web presence. They are "click and mortar," strong on the web but also existing in the real world. I took a chance, ordered my screen online, and hoped for the best.

Wow. What can I say that doesn't sound like I am a paid spokesman? -laughing- The service rep dropped me an email right away to let me know I needed to confirm my shipping address. It was not the same as my billing address of record, and they were protecting my account against fraud. The rep (Tami) and I exchanged a few emails and a couple of phone calls, and I was good to go. She let me know the screen was in stock and should ship and arrive within the next couple of weeks. That was much better than mid-January, so I was very happy. Now imagine how thrilled I was to find my screen delivered to my office Monday afternoon. So I bought it online 12 Dec 8:30pm and I had it in my hands on 17 Dec 3:30pm.

Excellent customer service (thanks, Tami!), the exact product I want, and an unbelievable price - online shopping does not get any better than this. Thanks, Visual Apex! If you need a reference, I'm your guy!
