I most likely will not shop here again. They charge a processing fee and tax on contact lenses. Aside from that and more importantly they don't seem to be able to process orders properly.I was told my prescription had expired and was called by the wrong name with the wrong order number when they e-mailed me. I got my contacts somewhere else. I had to wait longer to get a customer service person on the phone but that is because they are busy and vision direct must not be if my experience is any example.

I have been ordereing my lenses from Visiondirect.com for over a year now and am not totally satisfied with their service, I'm going to list what I see to be the pros and cons below:
Pros Good website Nice Variety Check with eye doctor Sends reminders Decent pricing Cons Shipping time is kind of slow sometimes (on my last order I had to wait a week and a half for them just to process the order and another few days for it to arrive which I found pretty annoying) When you try to look up previous orders to make a new one they only remember the brand you bought previously and not the prescription or size ( have to find the box somewhere....) Their rebates and offers are annoying to redeem, not straight up offers but a lot of small print and conditions.... |

E-mail Inquiry after several days resulted in automated response which was totally non-responsive, requiring a second inquiry. Only then was I advised that item had been back-ordered.

I never received my contacts, no email confirmations, overall not satisfied. after emailing a request on the status of my order and getting an automated email response I canceled my order. I ended up ordering from brandnamecontacts.com and got a phone call and email immediatly about my rx. Six days later I am seeing perfectly and will order from brandnamecontacts.com again! Do not order from vision direct.com. Too slow, no customer service. no email responses from a human.

contact lenses were not in stock, and merchant did not bother to notify me of that. I called them, they never kept me abreast as if the order was going to be filled or not. I kept waiting and waiting for the shipment to be fulfilled and shipped. No updating from this company. I did get my order, after a very very lengthy wait time.

They hit me with the old "bait and switch". Told me they called the doctor and lenses I ordered are not for me. Auto-Switched me to another model! (the other model was cheaper, but the whole point was to get what I want, not what they are ready to sell). I called my doctor to complain - they told me they have no problems with me using either product, and they never told anyone I couldnt.

Have purchased from this merchant numerous times. There is a VERY lengthy delay from when my credit card is billed and when I receive my product. When called to inquire, there is no tracking information available except when they say the product was shipped. It can be several weeks between when I am billed for the product and when it is received.

The service has been excellent over the last few years; however my last purchase was cancelled without any explanation. Despite several emails, I never received an answer as to what happened. Eventually, VisionDirect ignored my requests. I will stop shop at VisionDirect as their prices and products are excellent but I now understand that if there ever was an issue, I would be on my own as their online service is terrible.

it was good value for money even including the shipping. the website layout and graphics can be improved on to make a more enjoyable shopping experience. tracking of the order needs to be a bit more detailed and maybe a image to show the steps to delivery and to show customers where there order is on the delivery process would be ideal. overall good experience but website can do with upgrading and updating.

A week after placing my order online, the web site still listed it as "in process."
Only after I contacted the company by email did I learn that my lens was not in stock. Most companies will notify a customer immediately when a product is back ordered. The order took approximately another week to be filled and delivered. If I had known sooner that the order could not be processed more quickly, I would have cancelled the order and purchased lenses locally or through another online retailer.

W have purchased my wife's lenses from VisionDirect for several years without a problem of any kind - very happy with service & quality of products.... until this year. We purchased my wife's annual lenses renewal and about 3 days after placing the order was informed via email that the order was cancelled because her prescription was outdated. We called her Dr. who informed us that they were not contacted concerning her prescription and that her records reflected her current prescription, not to mention the fact that I had faxed her new one per instructions when I ordered. Any, we had to go through the whole process again and her order was delayed almost 3 weeks longer because of it.
Fast-forward to now (about a month after), I decided to go with contacts for the first time and after the testing period got my prescription to order. Since I had not ordered for myself before I called instead of doing the order online (9/04/09). The lady was cordial and we completed the process. I, more than once confirmed with her my prescription parameters and she confirmed so. Directly after hanging up (per her instructions) I faxed my prescription to the company(9/04/09) and went about my business. Everything seemed to go as anticipated until I received the package via mail. Inside 2 boxes were marked as the wrong power from the prescription. I immediately called customer service to which the gentleman (Andrew) all but accused me of ordering incorrectly and then after proving I had done my part correctly & promptly (9/04/09) accused my doctor of the error and that they did not receive the reply from them until 9/7/09 after the order was processed. I reordered the correct lenses that he said would take at least 10-14 days to deliver and hung up. I attempted to call my doctor but they were closed for the afternoon so I called the following morning at their opening. I spoke with the actual person who processed the prescription confirmation vis fax and she confirmed that she had received the request, made the corrections (more information than was necessary) and promptly refaxed it(9/04/09). She faxed me what she had sent them and I called Visiondirect to talk with management and got a Mark. He would not allow me to talk to anyone but proceeded to look at my order. His summation of the situation was that the doctor's office had checked the wrong box and the fax/order was processed electronically so no person could see her written corrections written beside the check marked box.
In other words in both instances Visiondirect was not at fault or in error in either instance.
WRONG!
I am disappointed and in relaying to my wife the situation she replied... there are other companies out there...we do not need or deserve this.
And, to be honest, I half feel that this time spent putting this down is ALSO a waste of time.... but, at least it's done.

Order for son was delayed - your database search function was used to find Doctor's name at the optometrist used but this was incorrect resulting in order rejection. The prescription was faxed (with illegible name) and the order revived but shipping was slow and could not be upgraded to expedite. However, am satisfied with product and price.
