Internet shopping is not new to me.  I have made a number of purchases from a host of internet vendors including private parties, major department stores, and the large marketing websites.  I have got to say that this has been my best internet shopping experience ever.  As a careful consumer making his first plasma HDTV purchase, I spent a lot of time on line educating myself.  After extensively reviewing the 2008 and 2009 LCD and Plasma models, I conducted product research through magazines, marketing sites, and electronics technical websites.  It was important to me to buy a set made by one of the top three manufacturers, and from a top-notch reputable electornics dealer.  This ultimately led to me to purchase a Panasonic TC-P42X1 from Vanns.

After following the advertised market prices for several weeks at over a dozen shopping sites as well as the brick-and-morter stores, I had a very good idea of the current market prices available, and had developed a list of questions.

From the Vanns website, I was able to initiate a live chat over the internet with a sales representative.  John in sales politely and competently answer all my questions.  To conclude the deal, we then talked on the telephone and I placed my order for the Panasonic Plasma HDTV (TC-P42X1).  Vanns provided me with an "informal" price match of the best internet price I had found from an authorized Panasonic dealer.  I placed my order around noon on Monday and received a confirmation e-mail a few hours later.  The next morning (Tuesday), I received a series of e-mails: the first one advised that the order had been approved; shortly thereafter another e-mail advising the order had gone to shipping.; then I was advised of the shipper; and finally I was notified that the order had been shipped out.  It was a busy Tuesday.  The TV was delivered to my home in California around noon on Thursday.

That's right.  I placed the order on Monday and the big screen TV was delivered to my home on Thursday.  Now that is a sales and delivery performance I never expected.

My next purchase will be a Blu-Ray DVD player, and it will be from Vanns.
