No long wait for a customer rep! That in itself was an accomplish for me. Mark Helveston and Kyle, the two reps I talked to, were a big help in selling me on Vann's over Newegg, whom I regularly use, and Tigerdirect. The price on the Hitachi P50V701 50" Plasma TV beat every competitor on the internet. Some had a cheaper price but when you added on shipping, Vann's was the winner. Add on NO sales tax, NO shipping charges, and a FREE $150 Harmony 670 remote control and the deal is unreal! Try $1480. I ordered the TV on a Friday and it shipped on Monday. In between I received 3 emails in the first 24 hours thus keeping me informed every step of the way.
The TV itself is a marvel. I compared it side by side with a Panasonic TH-50PZ80U 50" Plasma. I honestly felt the Hitachi was the winner hands down. Did I add the Hitachi was $600 dollars cheaper at the time? It has the new HD V video processor and full HD1080p and i. I also has the new Reelvision Film Processing, which makes old video cassettes look great. It has numerous inputs so you can plug in all your other video equipment. Also the 701 is the newest Hitachi model along with the 901 which is very expensive. Most stores are still carrying the Hitachi 401, 501, and 601. The military exchange near our home had the 401 but it was $1699! That's with no tax! I get a newer model from Vann's, saving over $200 in the bargain. I urge everyone to consider the Hitachi P50V701 and Vann's as a team. If you find a better deal anywhere from a reputable dealer, I will be shocked. I just became a regular Vann's customer!
