Pssssst. Pet Stuff Is Cheaper Online.

In a Nutshell
ValleyVet.com has a seemingly infinite supply of things you need/want for your pet pooch, equestrian, or even bovine pal. Kitty litter, heartworm meds, digestive aids, chew toys, riding gear, even antibiotics. There website is clean and easy to navigate and doesn't feel cluttered despite all the animal stuff they carry. It is the mega site for pet and vet supply and their prices beat brick and mortar pet stores and your vet any day. (Shipping and "handling" is another story.)

Outside the Nutshell
I got a bull terrier puppy about a month ago and I simply can't stop buying stuff for him. He has so many stuffed animals, rubber fire hydrants and nylon bones that I hide them when my friends come over so they don't tease me. (Yes, I also purchased seemingly silly things like vitamins, ear wash and scented poop bags.) It's sad how much I buy for the puppy. My mother told me I can't buy love, but it sure is fun.

Prices
I used to stock up on stuff at the pet store down the street until I compared prices online and discovered ValleyVet.com. (An edible Nylabone at the store was $2.99, compared with $1.49 at ValleVet - a small Kong was 5.99 v. $3.59 so on and so forth.) They're a lot cheaper than the vet too, who tried to sell me Advantage Flea stuff for $120/year - at ValleyVet.com it's only $75/year, same for heartworm meds.

Inventory - or why I love ValleyVet.com
The ValleyVet.com warehouse must be about four and a half square miles big - and three stories tall. As mentioned earlier, they have everything you could ever imagine an animal (pets and farm animals) would ever need, and then a million other things you didn't know existed.

Website Navigation
Well organized and flawless - just like you'd expect a good website to behave. Their website is laid out so that "Pet", "Equine", and "Farm" are seperated, essentially creating three seperate sites and the categories (like "toys" or "grooming" are always on the left margin.) It's difficult to get lost or buried - and almost every item they sell has a picture, a little catalog type blurb, and offers the ability to view it as a larger image.

What I like about the site is that it displays a running total of how much I have in my cart, so I'm conscious of how much I'm spending on my puppy.

Website Extras
Standard stuff like joining a mailing list for promos, a little help/FAQ section, and a place for things on sale. Nothing terribly exciting.

Shipping and Stuff
You'll be happy to know that most items ship for free if your order is over $50 and the items you buy are relatively small. (If not, you'll either be slapped with a $5 handling fee if your order is less that $50 or be charged a "freight" charge - which is understandable if you buy super heavy or bulky things like a crate or bedding.) Since the "freight" charge applies to heavier items, it might be wise to compare prices, keeping the shipping and tax in mind.

I've shopped twice on ValleyVet.com - and twice my order came on time, neatly packed with styrofoam peanuts and packing slips. There was nothing remarkable about it, and that's totally fine by me.

I love the insane variety. It's cheap and a steal, especially if the items are free shipping - which most are. It ain't too bad if you're the type to pay for the convenience of online shopping either - which I am.
