VCDiscounter's customer service did nothing to remedy their errors relating to my online order.

I originally ordered from this store because of their many positive reviews, but I did not have a positive experience using this online retailer.  The "new" Panasonic vacuum cleaner that I ordered came in a box that was clearly already opened (re-taped shut, syrofoam on inside torn).  The hoze nozzle was not included in the package nor was the instruction manual.  The headlight on the vacuum was burnt out also.  I called the retailer to express my concerns, but was told that there was no reason that this box would have been opened prior to its arrival at my house.  I was told to call the manufacturer to obtain the missing pieces and that an exchange for a new, unopened box was not possible.

I called the manufacturer (Panasonic) to express my discontent about the retailer and to obtain the missing parts, which they will ship to me.  They *should* arrive within the next week.  But before they would do this, I first had to fax a proof of purchase to them. 

I feel like an online retailer should offer more customer service than this.  The vaccuum cleaner in the already-opened box I received worked fine and I would have accepted a slight discount in the price in lieu of doing a full exchange.  Instead, I was just told that nothing could be done.  Because this was clearly an error on their part, I thought they could have made some offer to clear up their mistake. 

Due to my experience with this retailer, I would not shop with them again.

Update:  8 months after purchasing the vaccuum from vcdiscounters.com, it completely stopped working.  To me, this confirms what I had already suspected, the "new" vaccuum that I ordered had already been used before it even arrived at my house.
