disappointing

Order was received as described and within anticipated arrival time.
The item was a web sale women's one piece swimsuit - an attractive looking faux wild animal print with black bottom. For an item that was originally supposedly a high ticket garment it lacked decent elastic on the leg openings. The lack of sufficient elastic there means that it doesn't fit properly and does not provide comfortable coverage of that area. |

Putting together a travel wardrobe is easy with TravelSmith.

No matter where I am going on vacation, I can always find the right attire on TravelSmith. I don't like to take big suitcases, so it is so important to me to have nice looking clothes that can be crammed into tiny places that don't look like they have been.
I've been very pleased with the quality of merchandise, the variety and the sales they offer. I've only had one experience where I needed to return a dress and it was no problem at all. |

TravelSmith makes travel simple, stylish, stress-free

I discovered TravelSmith when I was planning a three-week trip to Italy. Since I was traveling alone and could only take one small bag, I was delighted when my super-organized friend turned me on to her Big Trip/One Bag strategy: she relies on TravelSmith for a few key pieces that mix and match and resist wrinkles. Her strategy worked perfectly ... I practically LIVED in TravelSmith's CoolMax tees and their cute "indispensable little black dress." Everything looked fab and survived hours of sightseeing, trains, hot weather, crowds. I washed the CoolMax tees in a tiny sink in Venice... they were dry in a couple hours! Plus, their healthy back bag helped me keep all my stuff safe and organized. Not having to fuss with extra luggage, laundry, ironing, and losing stuff made it possible for me to really enjoy la dolce vita--the sweet, simple life of Italy. Thank you, TravelSmith!

I ordered and received 2 swim suites. They were expensive but I needed a good one and thought that one of the 2 may work. When they arrived I tried them on only to find they were very ill-fitting & unflattering. Their return information said to call

I have shopped with TravelSmith several times and I like their durable travel clothes for the most part. They are a little baggy, but always look neat and pressed. But their customer service has to be the worst I have ever had from an on-line

Poor online order system and customer service
by sarayan, October 25, 2005

I ordered recently online and didn't get an email confirmation or an order number. Fortunately, I printed the "order confirmed" page. When I called to find out if my order went through 2 days later, I was told that they could find no such order. Further, I was told by the rep who answered the phone that someone from customer service would call back the next business day. No one did. Five days later I found my credit card was charged. I called again after that and at this time I was told that the order had already shipped!
I had problems in the past with delayed shipment and poor customer service. So I didn't order for about two years. Thought maybe they improved. No such luck. Looks like their website and online ordering system needs a major overhaul too- maybe they should take lessons from online merchants like LL Bean. They do have some good products, but better customer service will help retain their customer. I will certainly think twice before ordering from them again. |

Delayed shipping to ruin Christmas

I ordered a shockproof, waterproof glasses case for my fiance' for Christmas here. I placed the order on December 20th, and as Christmas was up and coming, paid $12.99 extra for UPS two day expedited shipping to be sure it would arrive in time. My package did not arrive until December 28th, after being mailed out on the 27th. I'm sure their products are fine, but don't order anything you need in a hurry, and don't bother paying the premium prices for faster shipping!

Unfortunately, unlike the previous glowing reviews of this company - I must present the dissenting vote. I found this company to be extremely difficult to order from - and unresponsive to customer complaints. Despite their rather high price points for

We first became aware of TravelSmith more than 10+ years ago. We've received their catalogs all during that time. We've also been to their semi-annual clearance sales held at the convention centers in San Mateo, CA and Marin Civic Center, San Rafael,

We have ordered many times from Travel Smith. Delivery is always quick. Exchanges, when necessary, are easy and fast. Prices are even good when you find the item on sale, they're not too bad other times. Product quality has always been excellent.

Before leaving for an extended European vacation, I ordered a "Road Less Travelled jacket" from Travelsmith. It arrived on time, in good condition. When the jacket turned to trash during the vacation (the dye wore off), I mailed it home and bought another jacket. Once I got home, I sent off some churlish email to TravelSmith asking for a refund (their formmail on the 'contact us' webpage works - a rarity online) and a return shipping label, since this would have been the 3rd time I'd be paying for shipping on this thing.
The customer rep, both via email and on the phone, could not have been nicer - profuse apologies, reassurance that the refund and the shipping label were on the way. Three days later, here's the label and I expect to see the refund pretty soon, too. Nice folks - I'll probably order from them again - they are the king of pocketed garments. |

While planning for a trip to Europe this fall, I went to travelsmith.com to order some wrinkle-resistant clothing, etc. I was disappointed that the items were on backorder and the estimated availability would not be in time for our departure date. I sent
