bad customer service, rude supervisor, expensive shipping & handle

been a long-time customer to tigerdirect since 2001... couple a days ago they removed my name as a preferred customer simply because i have some returns to them for it was defective. they claimed that the merchandise i returned was not really defective when it got to the warehouse and tested it. supervisor's name is miguel wright and he was really, really rude. he has told me that i cannot buy from tigerdirect ever again. will never, ever deal with them anymore.

Terrible. Bait and Switch.
For the past three months, the Swann Max-IP-Cam has been advertised in their catalog for $99. That's half the price anyone else sells it for. Of course, if you go to their website or call them, you find out they don't actually sell that camera at all, but they'll be glad to sell you another one! I've called about the ad for the past 3 months. I get the same response each time, they don't sell it, with a recommendation for another camera. Classic bait and switch. They have no ethics. Stay away. |

Rebate Scam

I placed an order for a notebook, which was a great deal after a rebate. The order did not go through at first so I had to call Tiger Direct again. At that time I was told to purchase security software from CA, because it had two rebates that made it effectively free. So I did. When filling in the rebate forms, which are not easy as you go through third party web site and must get verification email, I realized that one of the rebates for the software is not applicable for me. So I returned the software package in original, unopened condition. I paid for the return postage, but got back only 30% of my money. I never got the answer why and never got a full refund. Worst, the rebate for my computer did not go through because according to the rebate administrator I did not submit the UPC code. I have copies of all forms, including the serial number and the UPC code that I mailed, but that did not help to get my rebate check. It was my first and certainly the last purchase I made from Tiger Direct.

Delivery speed is average. Order accuracy is very questionable, ordered 2 Motorola RAZR phones, receiving one "export only" model. Customer service is horrible, providing no explanation or guarantee same result upon exchange. Tiger Direct customer service made no effort to remedy the customers inconvenience, providing only their standard return policy, which will only inconvenience me (the customer) more. I recommend shopping elsewhere.

Lately they spam you with apparently excellent deals on thumbdrives, but they're brokering the kind of deal where you have to send in lots of rebate paperwork. One of my rebates was expired by the time the thumbdrive got to me, in response to the other one, I got a postcard MONTHS later saying that I had photocopied the bar code instead of sending the original. I can't remember whether I did or not, but I'm generally pretty good about following the instructions when $'s at stake. So I paid 50 bucks for my thumbdrive, cause I can't find the receipt to return it!

Decided to purchase an Ultra MP3 player though Tiger Direct. Deciding factor were 2 rebates available for product. I did everything(absolutely everything) stated in Rebate. The rebate was denied for "post mark not within times( a bunch of Bull) these guys are absolutely unethical and a bunch of crooks if you ask me.
Did research on Tiger Directs rebate record and found lots of others have been ripped off as well by this company. I should have researched before purchasing...my own fault for trusting Tiger Direct. Hope you learn from my stupidity. |

This is a good site, pretty good prices and lots of rebate options. They have great deals every day, so its best if you sign up for there news letter. You can get a 32" LCD HDTV for less than 500!!!! Thats better than Best Buy. I think this site is well worth looking. Shipping and returns are also performed pretty well. Tiger Direct has plenty of payment options (like; Paypal, eBill, credit cards and more).

My techy brother turned me on to Tiger Direct a couple years ago, and it's the first place I look for my computer and electronics needs now. They offer a great selection of electronic and computer things. They have excellent everyday prices, and occasionally you can find really super deals.
Over the last few years I've purchased, several hard drives, a removable drive, a cd/dvd writer drive to replace the piece of junk writer my Dell came with. (With the rebates I got on that dvd writer, it was a steal --though it took quite a few months before I got all my rebate checks.) I only had a problem with one refurbished hard drive that I bough from Tiger Direct. Their customer service person directed me to the manufacturer, and I had no problem getting a prompt replacement. Their catalogues don't show everything you might be interested in. But the website has it all. I've recommended Tiger Direct to friends. |

Horrible experience! I was a long-time TigerDirect Customer, but never again. Never had any trouble until I traded in merchandise. I received only partial payment, even though they verified the values higher and then couldn't use the gift card because a "digit was missing" in the activation code. I was hung up on six times, wrote 15 emails and NONE were answered. STAY FAR, FAR AWAY from this company. I'm hoping for a class action suit, because I'll sign on instantly!!! I have saved all the emails, so be warned TigerDirect, justice is coming!

I bought a diablotek casing and it was a cheap construction and the lights on it were noisy, believe or not... I think Tigerdirect is good for cheap parts and the service is only from the manufacturer. They mostly sell china so anyone speak chinese around (and that is when they answer the phone...). Be carefull. cheap parts, no service is bad mix...

Submitted a detailed and precise order for a toner cartridge for my printer. Received the wrong cartridge. It would not fit in the printer. The first time I called them the line went dead during a conversation with them. Well this could happen to anyone so a few days later I called again. This time they gave me another number to call and stated that the matter would definitely be corrected. I called and was told that they had nothing to do with exchanges. So having no satisfaction I E-mailed Amazon through whom I had submitted the order. Fortunately I had kept all my paperwork. A few weeks later I received a full refund. I would never deal with Tiger Direct again. At the risk of sounding paranoid I find many of the so-called positive reviews here suspiciously like advertisements.

The company has good prices, good service and quick delivery. The rebate program they operate is a scam. I've been denied on multiple rebates for my personal use. In reading many other comments on websites, I'm convinced that the scam is part of their business plan to sell more product. It's bad management practice, although they did get my money! I use other vendors and have less loyalty to them as a result.

Tiger Direct took my order, confirmed my order and refused to ship my order even though it was set up for next day delivery. All I got next day was a notice that the order had been sent to a drop shipper for fulfillment, After several more days of no product I checked the status on their site. My order which they had confirmed was marked cancelled. I got an email later stating that there were cancelled items on my order(none listed) and the rest were pending shipment(everything I had ordered). I called customer service repeatedly and after going through the voicemail-go-round and being put on hold I finally just waited to see what was going on with my order. They had cancelled it because the price had changed. I will never shop there again and recommend that noone else does either. They lied to me, stalled me, wouldn't let me talk to a supervisor. I don't know if I would call what they tried a bait and switch attempt or just outright fraud, but be warned that you may never get what you order from them. I didn't.
