Minor Glitch, then Major Problem

I bought two HP computers for my small office in the last two weeks, both from TigerDirect.  The first one was the lowest price available online, after Consumer Depot canceled my order saying it was out of stock.  I placed the order on a Thursday, it was shipped Friday, and it arrived Monday afternoon.  The only problem was that the email confirmation they sent had a link to UPS, and it turned out their drop shipper uses FedEx.

A week later, I ordered the same model for the same price on the same day of the week (Thursday).  Late Friday afternoon, they emailed me that it was back-ordered.  If they don't have it in stock, why give online buyers the impression that they do?  But by Monday, they emailed me that it had been shipped.  Again, the tracking number was FedEx, whose website indicated that it would be delivered Wednesday.

Wednesday afternoon, I checked the FedEx tracking again, and it said that the shipment was undeliverable because of a bad address.  I checked my order confirmation with TigerDirect, and it had the correct address.  I checked the shipping label on the first computer's box, and it had the correct address.  I called FedEx, and they said that the delivery address was Suite 10 in my office complex, not Suite 1050. (FedEx also said they have no way of contacting the driver, who was still in the neighborhood making deliveries; we see him every day.)

I called TigerDirect and after waiting on hold a few minutes, I explained the problem to a service rep.  The first thing she told me is that they don't use FedEx.  After convincing her that they did in this case, she put me on hold.  Sometimes there was music, sometimes there wasn't.  After about ten minutes I hung up and called back.  It was a longer hold just to talk with someone, so I also used the "online chat" feature of their website.

Eventually a service rep answered who told me that there was no way they could contact FedEx directly, because they were not the shipper.  He said they would contact their vendor, and their vendor would contact FedEx, and maybe I would get my computer by Friday.

Meanwhile, it's bouncing around on a FedEx truck in 100-degree Arizona summer weather.

The online chat service rep took about the same amount of time to tell me about the same thing.
