I hadn't shopped at Tiger Direct or visited their website in quite some time, until recently. I noticed a new web site layout, which is even easier to surf and order from than before.

I bought 1 gig of RAM for my son's computer, which was on the fritz. We thought that would help but ended up just not working and we ditched that computer. So I took out my two 32MB of RAM and put the 1 gig in my computer. Everything works just fine. The price was extremely low. My item was packed extremely well. The RAM was in an anti-static plastic sleeve with a protection label put on by the manufacturer so I knew it wasn't previously used. It was in a HUGE box with anti-static air filled bags instead of the regular packing peanuts. I was a bit upset that they use a huge box that would fit a breadbox for something the size of a checkbook. But...whatever works I guess.

The item arrived on time and I had no problem getting it to work with my computer so I did not need to speak with customer service. At TigerDirect you will find just about anything you'd need for your computer or electronic needs. Prices are usually quite a bit lower than other stores and dramatically lower than hardware stores. Security-wise, I can appreciate the fact that all orders placed at TigerDirect.com are encrypted using the latest 128-bit SSL encrypted technology which they say will scramble your credit card number.

Items are shipped from Illinois but even though I'm in Oregon, I had a surprisingly fast turn around time of 3 business days (and that was via UPS Ground, at that!), which was even faster than I was told. I do remember thinking it was insane to pay almost $6 for shipping a piece of plastic, but since I saved money buying it online it was worth it. TigerDirect's on-site tracking service is fantastic. Be sure to read their return policies, as it's pretty lengthy and different for each type of item. TigerDirect.com does offer a 30-day guarantee against defects by the manufacturer's warranty. Overall, I am happy with the fast delivery of the product and the low prices.
