Don't trust the website if it says it's in stock.
Call them back to confirm (several times)
Have had a few good experiences with these folks, and one miserable one.
Searched online for a refurbished laptop for my Dad for Christmas, item said "In Stock", purchased it 1 December, used my billing address and shipped it to my Dad. Got an e-mail thanking me for my order, told they may call me to confirm the credit card.
4 days later (was supposed to ship within two days) they called my Dad to confirm my credit card. He called me to see what was up. I called Tiger Direct to clear things up. They say everything is fine.
10 days later, no lap top.
Checked on the order. The laptop, which was listed as in stock when I ordered it, is now on backorder.
Called Tiger Direct on the number they gave me. Waited 5 minutes on hold, then their line went dead. Called again, waited again, then spoke with a very nice service person who said (nicely) that they didn't have it in stock, wouldn't get any more IN stock until the end of the month, would I like to buy something else? I said no, please cancel my order. He said he couldn't, but he could connect me with someone that could. He transferred me--to a computer, that gave me three choices-- none of which clearly related to cancelling the order. I picked the closest one, was told (by a computer) that it couldn't help me, and got hung up on.
Called back (third call this day, fourth call overall), got a service rep that asked me if I minded waiting until the 30th (today is the 15th), because they MIGHT have it in stock and ready to ship by then. I declined and cancelled my order.
Overall, prices are good, selection is good, but don't rely on the item to be in stock, futhermore when they find it is OUT of stock AFTER you order it, they don't contact you to tell you, they just let you figure it out by not sending it to you.
