Disgraceful customer service and support. I bought a gas griddle in Jan. 09 from the WEBstaurant store and it was delivered via freight in a New England noreaster. Freight driver refused to help me get it into the house (his company policy, he said) so I had to wait for a neighbor to arrive home later that day to uncrate. Upon doing so, discovered the griddle was severely damaged and broken parts were thrown inside the crate, indicating someone knew it was damaged. I immediately notified the WEBstaurant store with text, pictures and phone calls. I had trustingly signed the delivery paperwork because I was unable to immediately inspect and the driver was impatient to leave. A painful lesson learned.
The WEBtaurant store refused to do anything to rectify and basically said "tough luck". I'm out almost $600.00.
One note: the griddle was manufactured by Anvil America of North Carolina. I called them about parts to try and fix the griddle myself and they could not have been nicer. They were very sympathetic and surprised to hear about the WEBstaurant store's lack of concern. They sent me the parts for free and even paid for the parts shipping.
They know customer service
unlike the Webstaurant store.
The griddle is still not operative and I'm screwed. Two lessons learned.
First lesson: Don't ever sign the freight release without inspecting even if it takes hours.
Second lesson: Don't ever do business with the WEBstaurant store again. Pathetic.
