I am extremely disappointed in Target. I ordered a lamp over 2 months ago. I am not able to cancel the order. They have not shipped the order. I just keep getting an e-mail every 2 weeks stating that the item has been delayed. There's no reason for the delay. And again, I am not able to cancel the order.
In all honestly, I shop online a lot. I am a working mother of 2 little girls. I don't have much time to go shopping. When we do go shopping, we are loyal Target shoppers. But again, not much time. So I wanted to keep that loyalty by shopping online. But whenever I am on a site (amazon.com) and they say the item will ship from Target, I purposely do not choose that item. I will not shop at Target Online again. 1. Never received item. 2. No way to cancel item, even though it was never shipped. 3. No explanation. Bad customer service. |

Bad experience. Ordered a chair with ottoman, 9/15, never got any updating emails. Had to check order status myself several times. Tracking showed the item shipped out from a warehouse, then went all over the East coast, ending up in NH - not where I live. Hard to get to customer service. On 10/10 finally did, asking where the chair was. The rep said "this is over my limit" and said he was filling out some form for his "lead." After being put on hold and pushing for some answers, the rep said the item would be "replaced" and then after my pushing some more, he said it was actually out of stock now, and Target would decide whether to replace it or refund my money. Target wasn't able to say if and when the chair would be in stock again, and they weren't able to replace it with a different color chair that might have been in stock. Of course I demanded the refund. What a pain in the neck.

Beware of the "your order has shipped" letter from Target, the one that says standard UPS shipping is 3-5 business days. I got that letter on a Friday. UPS record says they got request to pickup package on the next Tuesday, that delivery may be two weeks from the day I got the shipping notice. That is 11 business days.

Tried to order 6 of those stackable, folding lightweight mesh sweater dryers for 11.99 a piece. When I got to checkout the shipping charges were in excess of $55--that's OVER FIFTY-FIVE DOLLARS for SHIPPING! I quit that order in a hurry, and I hope it was a mistake. I've emailed them an inquiry but haven't heard anything yet...

I will NEVER order from Target online again. I ordered 4 top of the line jacquard bath towel sets. It has taken 2-months of receiving bits and pieces, and portions of the orders are unavailable. So I have ended up with four high-priced mismatched partial bath towel sets. Do yourself a favor, buy in-store or don't buy from them. It's too risky and they do not seem to have any online inventory control.

We ordered a Britax Companion Infant Car Seat from Target.com and received a moldy, stinking seat. It was either mildewed or had been already been used. Returning the item was also a royal pain -- we had to wait in line at a local store for 30 minutes, only to be told that we needed to print out an in-store receipt. Of course, all of the printing kiosks were broken at the store. So back to waiting in line again.
They finally gave us our money back, but this was not the stress we were looking for with the baby only one week away! |

I am working overseas in the Balkans and have a hard time finding household items as I am used to over here. I found some of the items on Target, but couldn't get them to ship these particular items over here, we're talking about a set of drawer knobs, fabric storage cubes, cheap wristwatches, and a leather laptop bag. I emailed them an inquiry and was sent a generic response. "some items are hazardous. . . some items are oversized or overweight" etc, etc. Nothing that applied to the question I asked. There are a lot of merchants that will ship to APO addresses no questions asked because it is an American address. As an American company, you'd think they'd do a better job of supporting the troops overseas.

My entire shopping experience at Target.com has been excellent. I ordered two items on Tuesday night around 11:30pm and both were delivered by 10:00am on Friday. The delivery was even split. I will definitely shop at Target.com again!

I recently bought a 14.4 volt cordless drill from Target. The brand name on the drill, "Duralast" is apparently an in-house brand and not sold anywhere but at Target stores. My problem with the drill came when I went to recharge the battery. Apparently the charger unit did not turn off like it was supposed to when the full charge was complete. As a result of this the battery and the charger both overheated. This not only wrecked the battery, it disabled the charger as well. thinking I could just buy another battery and charger I went to Target's website. Not only was it almost impossible to even find Duralast tools, the website offered no options for customer support. The site even indicated that while they sold Duralast tools, they don't sell Duralast cordless drills. So, now I have a perfectly good drill that is completely useless. The lesson? Buy well known brand name power tools. They provide good customer support and spare parts for their products. Target does not.

I did some shopping on-line and decided to see what Target had to offer. Since Target usually have things for less, I figured I won't lose anything by just looking around. I found some cute tank tops and some CDs and ordered them, but the total price didn't come up later, when the order was already placed and the card was charged. The shipping price was way too high and it didn't even arrive on time.

Target took longer then any place I ever ordered from. I received the Gerber Newborn Starter set I ordered and when I opened the box they sent the wrong item. They sent me the Infant Starter set.. come on can't the person who placed the item to ship read?? I noticed the tiny little sticker on the front of the box said Newborn starter gift sent when the box said Infant Starter set so from the day someone placed that sticker on it who ever was going to order the Newborn Gift Set was doomed. That person was me. My daughter is due in three weeks so I am going to buy this someplace else. I will NEVER order from Target on-line because someone cannot read. Don't go by the tiny 2 by 2 sticker, read the box the item comes in..Shame on Target.. .. bad in shipping took over a week to get item and then wham.. I get the wrong item.. and am very sad and upset with ordering on-line from Target.. this NEVER ever happened to me before and now I am not going to ever order from Target again.. so buyers: BEWARE!!!

I recently purchased a laptop bag from Target.com, and after reading horror stories, I was excited when my product came earlier than expected. When I opened the box, they had sent me the wrong item. Luckily I was able to return it to a local store. The customer service guy was rude and not very helpful, and to top it all off, Target didn't reimburse me for the shipping, when THEY sent ME the wrong item!

Ordered items on Jan 29 totalling $127. Items shipped Feb. 3. They broke my order into 2 and I received on a week later. Still waiting on the other part of the order. I get a runaround from Customer Service and cannot get anyone to answer the toll free lines. My credit card has been billed and they refuse to give me a refund - I got an email stating that they "think" that my order is lost (Really!!) and thats it - no follow up or anything. Never shopping with them again

I ordered some Gilligan & O'Malley satin lingerie items from Target before Christmas. I couldn't have been more pleased. They kept me informed along the way via email. They let me know when the items were shipped and I received them as expected. Shipping costs were calculated before I placed the order so I knew what to expect. I don't what these other folks are complaining about with regards to shipping. You can see the total, including shipping, before you order on the site. And by the way, I ordered the Gilligan O'Malley Long Satin Robe and matching gown in Still Shores Color. Oh my gosh! These things were just beautiful. I have never felt a more beautiful, silky, satiny fabric in whole life. In fact, I ordered some more as gifts after receiving my first one. I'm just sad they are out of stock now.

Put two items in shopping cart, proceeded to check out, shipping was WAY TOO HIGH (over $30.00). Called several local Target stores, item only available on website. Went back to shopping cart to purchase; guess I have to pay for shipping, but wait, one item mysteriously disappears from cart. Went back to retrieve item, now listed as "out of stock". Decided not to purchase other item as they were a "set". Checked a week later on availablity of Out of stock item, now BOTH items are out of stock. Called internet Customer Service Rep, friendly but totally unknowledgable ("a complete idiot"). Was given complete run around by EVERYONE; no one knows anything and will not transfer me to anyone who might know something. Item is still on website as "out of stock". Have no idea if it is on back order or discontinued. Unfortunately it is not available anywhere else or I would go somewhere else. No offers to help me from anyone at target.com.

On December 8th, 2005 I ordered a "Revlon Moisture Stay Paraffin Bath" as a Christmas present for my wife. Target's website showed the item in stock, but when I received their order confirmation it gave the estimated shipping date as January 20th, 2006!!! It didn't even list it as backordered or anything. Needless to say, I canceled the order. This is *THE LAMEST* experience I've ever had shopping online. Kudos to Target for a new benchmark.

I agree with other consumers- Shipping cost was too high, but I searched online and quickly found a coupon code and only paid $7.58 instead of $20 for a 25pound item. The shipping was good. Ordered Dec. 3rd - estimated time to received was Dec 15-19. I received on Dec. 13 (earlier than expected). I would shop Target again if I can again get the lower shipping cost. Unfortunately the item I wanted was available online only so I would not have been able to save shipping cost on it.

Purchased 2 AMW portable DVD units Dec '03 as gifts. Neither worked. Returned them to the AMW. They sent two more. These didn't work. Returned them to AMW. Received two more. These don't work. This makes 6 non-working units. AMW will send me two more with no warranty. The chances of them working are zilch. Target has done NOTHING. I ordered 2 twin headboards from Target and 2 months later I still do not have 1 of the headboards. They have cancelled my order twice because they don't have one in stock. Then, when I talk to a customer service rep. they apologize and reorder it. This has gone on for 2 months and my credit card was billed for both headboards. Finally, I demanded my money back and I'm waiting for this to happen. They did send me a 20.00 gift card which does me no good since I will never order from Target again!

Worst online experience ever! After ordering a Playmobil toy for a birthday party- I was informed 5 days after order it would be delayed. Then it never was shipped at the new date. Long story short- I called 5 times and spoke to a service rep who each time said "it is in stock, it should have shipped, we don't know why it did not"
The fifth time I asked for a supervisor who says "apparently the order is stuck in our system, why don't you just cancel the order and place a new order" I canceled the order. This ordeal has taken three weeks to get nowhere and get no information or updates. There are plenty of other places to use. These people never offered to speed this along, offer free shipping, offer shipping upgrade or offer to call the fulfillment center and see what the problem was. No problemw ith the stores but Traget.com is the pits. |

I recently made an on-line purchase with Target for a lamp. It was listed at $119.99. I made the purchase and later that day noticed that other websites had the SAME item for nearly half the price. I tried to cancel my order, since the ship date is TWO WEEKS away. However, when I spoke to a customer service rep. they said it had entered the "shipping process" and could not be canceled and they don't do price matching either. My advice: Check out other stores first for price comparison and if you do order from Target don't assume you'll have a chance to cancel the order, because it immediately goes into the "shipping process."
