I had ordered from Target.com previously and been happy, but I had a horrible experience this spring with them. I had a premature baby and was looking for a sling to buy to carry her in. I found great one on target.com that no one seemed to carry in store. I ordered it, along with other items and used a gift card to pay for the whole thing. It said the item was on back order and I could expect to wait 4 weeks. The other items I ordered arrived within 2-3 days. While waiting for the sling to arrive, I had no other way to carry my daughter other than in my arms or her car seat. Well, after waiting 6+ weeks, I went out and bought a Moby Wrap. I checked online to review my order status and could find the order NO WHERE! I finally called target.com to find out the problem. Well, it turns out that they don't charge the gift card until the item has been shipped. I used the remainder balance on the gift card the next time I went to a Target store. The gift card was then "used up" when it time came for target.com to charge it. I'm not upset about that, other than I should have been told not to try to use the card while waiting for the sling to arrive. What upset me THE MOST was that NO ONE TRIED TO CONTACT ME!!! I would have gladly given a credit card to pay for the sling. But again, NO ONE TRIED TO CONTACT ME to tell me there was a problem...my order was just deleted! I waited 6+ weeks for wrap to carry my baby in....6+ weeks I could have been carrying her in something else. I talked with Target customer relations and I understand the card was used up and yada yada yada...but where was the customer service telling me there was a problem? Even just and email to say, "Please contact us regarding your order." There was NOTHING! I was offered no apology or anything. It's not like I expected a free item...just notice that it wasn't coming and I should spend my money elsewhere. Target.com was a total let down for me....and I LOVE TARGET! Boohoo!
