Last year I was searching for a dainty princess lamp for my daughter's room. I searched high and low, on and offline. I am picky by nature and just was not happy with any that I saw. I saw many lamps with cartoon characters...they would be the perfect pink lamps but have Tweety front and center! One major concern was to get one that was sturdy enough to be accidentally knocked over and to keep on ticking. Right before I gave up on my search for the perfect little girl's lamp, I went to target.com. There is where I found the Princess Marabou Table Lamp that was so pretty! We do have a Target but it is an hour away and I always find more in stock online than in the actual store.

What I ordered:

I not only ordered the Princess Marabou Table Lamp for my daughter but also a string of flower string lights at the same time. This lamp is fit for a castle! All in pink with heart accents, fur trim, and a heart glass pull! My daughter and I both adore it. Of course for her... functionality beats cuteness! She is happy to have her very own big girl lamp while I adore the daintiness of it and how pretty it is! She has had it now almost a year and it is just as beautiful as when it arrived and still works perfectly. My only disappointment with it pertains to the size bulb it needs...a 60 watt when we usually buy 100 watt so I am having to buy special bulbs just for it.

The flower string lights were a disappointment but it was my own fault. I didn't realize that the string of lights would be so short. I expected to put them around her curtains for a little pretty decoration but they barely fit the top of the curtain rod and that was it! For $15, I expected them to be longer than that! So they are put up until I can afford a couple more sets to put with them.

The Site and Ordering:

I get overwhelmed with the large amount of items on most sites and find myself leaving the site, tired of looking and not finding what I want. So I appreciate when I can search by categories and find the exact item I want quickly. On target.com, you can search by different categories (kids, bath, bedroom, toys, furniture, and more) or put in a search term like pink lamp or girls lamp or kids lamp or just lamps. Each time your search criteria comes up, you can either add it to your cart or see if it is in stock at a store near you. At first the lamp I wanted was not in stock online but it said I could pick up at the store...I decided to think about it and decide the next day. The next day when I looked, it was in stock online and I purchased it.

Once you add something to your cart, a list of items that you might be interested in comes up as well as your most recently viewed items. This could be a matching bedspread or matching curtains. You do have to sign up to purchase an item but this is a simple process asking for your email address, password for the site, address, and name. The site loads quickly and I had no issues with clicking to a different part of the site.

You can locate your nearest Target on the site, purchase gift cards, create a wishlist, sign up for special deals to be delivered to your inbox, transfer a prescription to Target, or refill your prescription, or see the most recent Target weekly ad. Returns are accepted in new condition within 90 days. Payments accepted are credit and debit cards, as well as gift cards, and Target cards. You can track your purchase on the target.com site.

Shipping:

Some items cannot be shipped to post office boxes. My items were delivered to me within one shipment and were intact. They were bundled up well so nothing was broken. It took me a long time to unwrap the lamp as it was so wrapped well! It took a week to arrive. The site does not tell you shipping prices until you are checking out and there is no one shipping price...it is based on weight of the item and where it will be shipped. For heavier items, you would probably do much better picking up locally at Target if they have it in stock. Now they do have free shipping on select items if you spend $50 on the site. Customer Service:

I had no need to contact customer service with this purchase. Customer service can be contacted via email or phone. There are different phone numbers for different departments or problems you might have.

Final Say:

I was very happy with the merchandise that I ordered from target.com and would order from there again if I saw anything else that I liked. It isn't my first choice for online shopping but my experience there was good. Items were great quality and arrived intact!
