Although I had previously purchase a $300 ring from Szul before, I was a little hesitant when I was purchasing $2000 in loose diamonds for an engagement ring because of the reviews from sites like this (which I always take with a grain of salt because bad experiences get people motivate to inform other people, good ones don't). After visiting a number of local jewelry shops, I felt it was worth the "risk" to get better quality diamonds (better color, clarity and actually certified by someone other then themselves) for at least half the cost.

Although they did take longer to ship them out then I had hoped, they arrived as described with GIA certificates. After the cost of the ring and getting them mounted at a local jewelry store, it is easily comparable to rings purchased at Zales/Kayes for $4000 - $6000.

I am not a jewelry person, but did get excited about building my own ring and saving a ton of money over the conventional way people shop for engagement rings.

I have never had to deal with Szul with a return, which is generally the best way to find out how much customer service a merchant has, but I was definitely pleased with how everything turned out.
