The shipping rate was very unexpectedly high. In order for me to justify the rate, a friend bought the same thing and we split the cost of shipping...otherwise I would not have purchased the ornament.

The website is a pain in the rear end. I love your store but I found the website to be lacking in efficiency of collecting information and there was NO confirmation that I had placed the order successfully. I actually placed it twice and then had to call to see if it had been received. Both were received and one was cancelled - at least I hope so. I'm still waiting for the product to be delivered. If I don't have it today, I am going to ask for a refund. It's not worth it. I'll buy the bowls somewhere else as the store here in Seattle did not have any in inventory.

Their invoices for web purchases, sent to your email account, bear the sender address of "no-reply@surlatable.com". The invoice they sent for this order must have seemed to be spam to my email filter, and was deleted before I ever saw it. Therefore, I couldn't track the shipment and couldn't check the status of the order without logging on to the site. Small thing, but annoying. If they changed their sender's address for invoices it might prevent this.

The towels arrived very quickly. I am still waiting on the salt boxes. I have tried to track them from my email confirmation order form but it will not work so at this point I don't know the progress of that portion of my order and I have heard nothing from SurLa so I think it has been shipped.

I attempted to order a product that was listed as "in stock." However, even after receiving a confirming e-mail, I was later sent information that the product was out of stock and discontinued. I tried ordering the same product again a few days later when the website showed the product in stock. This time, I actually received information that the product is on the way. I'm happy that I'm going to receive what I wanted, but if I hadn't attempted to order again, I would have lost out on something I really wanted due to incorrect information.

I had attempted to make the same purchase a week or two earlier and received an email that it was no longer in stock. I kept checking the website and saw that this particular book was still there, so a week or so later I tried again. I was successful, the book shipped the next day, and it is beautiful! Overall, my frustrated attempts returned a happy result. Completely worth it and thank you!

Sur la Table's online store is terrible! Two items I ordered were backordered and I wasn't notified until weeks after I placed the order--I had expected the items to arrive in time for Father's Day. Customer service (call center) was completely incompetent, and seemed to have no idea what I was talking about when I placed my order. Their emails say to email customer service if you have a problem with your online order, and when I did try to use email to resolve my problem, i didn't get a response for over a week. I'm only now receiving items I ordered months ago, and still haven't received a credit for price difference.

I loved their store in NYC and I was so happy to find that you did online orders--esp since I'm starting a business of my own. But now that I see their company can't handle this function of the business, I'm taking mine elsewhere.
