I purchased batteries and a charger from Sterling Tek a year and a half ago. I was very excited as the price of the batteries was WAY lower than the price of the REAL sony batteries. When I got the batteries, I became very nervous. The packaging on the battery said that it was a substitute for the FC-10 battery. I called their customer service and they said "the FC-10 and FC-11 are the same battery. Sony just changed the name and rebranded it. We went to Best Buy and tried this battery with your DSC-V1 and it worked perfectly." So I kept the batteries. Initially, they did power up the battery although the "time remaining" indicator on the camera was never right. The battery would regularly give out when the camera said I had 40 or 50 minutes of power left. I missed a lot of good shots due to that problem. A secondary problem developed after 6 months. The batteries would simply not recharge (in the charger THEY sold me). It still charges the Sony battery that came with the camera, so it isn't the charger thats defective. Basically, I have now had to throw away all of the batteries that I bought. I feel like my initial concerns with Sterling Tek were merited. I will never buy anything from them again.
