What a three hour TOTAL waste of time. Okay, here's the scoop! Received a catalog via snail mail one day. Browsed thru it. Found several items of interest.
Coincidentally, received a "Happy Birthday" discount code coupon the following day. Now this makes my "items of interest" list a bit more interesting.
On the following Friday evening I decide to go online to place my order. This is where everything goes bonkers.
ONLINE, I find four items of clothing I would like to order which, when I view my total, shows $80.00 plus, WITHOUT taxes, and without shipping and handling. This is great in lieu of the fact that in order for my "Happy Birthday" discount code to be effective, I have to place an order for $75.00. So, I place my order and click on "submit" after entering my credit card info.
The next page comes up showing that my total is going to be $72.90. ????????? Okay. So what gives?? Guess I'll have to go in and find another item to order for at least $2.10. I go in and find a framed art piece that I REALLY like. It costs $63.00 (more or less). I attempted over and over and over again to add the art to my order with absolutely no success. The art order kept bringing me to a totally different order page that would not calculate with my clothing order.
After two and a half hours of trying to reorder and reorder and reorder ALL of the items to one page so that I could qualify for my $20.00 discount, I finally gave up and called customer service by phone.
Now THIS is the "REST OF THE STORY" (God bless you, Paul Harvey). The customer rep tells me that the very first item on my list (valued at $27.00) is no longer in stock. Funny, because I am looking at my order online, where I have actually "submitted" the order, my credit card info has been accepted and the final "submit" page is in front of me to place the order --- do or die---- and that particular item clearly states, "IN STOCK". The customer service rep only argues with me about the "in stock" status of that item and she advises me that I will have to go find another item to order to bring my order up to $75.00.
I tell her, "okay, I'd like to order that art piece. That should well exceed my order to qualify for the $20.00 "Happy Birthday" discount. She advises that the "art" is a separate division from the clothing and cannot be added as part of my clothing order. "Further", she tells me, I "can order the art separately if I like (I really would like to as I really like this art), but it has to be ordered separately from the clothing and I still must order enough from the clothing, accessories, bed and bath, home decor, etc. to get my order up to $75.00". I tell her that I found the "art" in the home decor. She asks, "well did you find it in clearance?" I advise that I don't remember off hand where I found it, but what difference does it make as my discount coupon says nothing about clearance items not qualifying for the discount. At that point, she tells me that I must call customer service between 8:00 and 10:00 Monday thru Friday to discuss the problem and she proceeds to advise me that it is now four minutes after 10:00, so I'll have to wait until Monday to call. And I advise her that the number that I called was one that was shown on the discount code coupon stating that it WAS "customer service".
What am I missing here folks????
I told her to remove my name and address from her mailing list and from her email list. What do you want to bet I'll keep getting solicited!!!
