Smith & Hawken

I will NEVER EVER do business with this company again. I placed an order for a birthday present and it didn't ship for four days!! When it finally shipped they sent it via USPS (and charged me $20.95 for shipping!!) which cannot be tracked. It says nowhere on their website that they ever ship anything via USPS, it only refers to UPS and FedEx...and are they kidding with the shipping charge??? For 20 bucks they can at the very least send it FedEx Ground. When I asked them if this was their usual procedure they said for small orders only...well, $170 isn't small to me but the rep sounded like he could care less. The website should clearly state what shipping method they will use and the expected delivery date and at the very least be able to provide the customer with a tracking number. As pricey as their product is, I would've thought the customer service level would've been excellent but I was very disappointed. It's probably okay if you're not in a hurry or don't mind spending a lot for shipping but otherwise buyer beware! Next time I'm going to Home Depot.
