After many attempts to reach Skate Buys during its supposed hours of customer service and sales, all I got was the same recording over and over again. I also emailed, asking if the store was still in business and no response. The site wasn't working properly either when (before attempting to call) I tried to place an order. BEWARE- this retailer probably isn't doing well! I wouldn't order anything expensive (if you still want to order anything at all from this type of business) from Skate Buys. Plus, look at all the other bad reviews.

ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICES, I keep trying to call them every day and nobody returns my phone calls, emails i even wrote them a letter and nothing. I cant believe it i ordered skates for 300 $ i dont have skates and no money i contacted my credit card...im happy i did that.... So I also sent a complaint to the Better Business Bureau in Delaware, where is the company's address.

I highly recommend you DO NOT buy anything from Skatebuys or Skate-buys. They are obviously going out of business because there is noone available at any of the extensions. No customer service, no new orders, no returns, and even their stores are gone.
I received an incorrect order an I am now stuck with it because there is noone to handle a return. Do not get ripped off. |

Placed my order. Three days later I tried to contact them No answer at the 1-866-361-7306. Looked up the business number and could not get an answer (302-798-5003). Called the Better Business Bureau in Claymont Delaware.... home of Skatebuys. They said they had numerous complaints about Skatebuys.
Bottom line is these guys are scum.... call your local attorney general and complain. |

I ordered from Skatebuys before I read the reviews on this site. After reading the negative reviews here, I almost canceled my order. Fortunately I didn't. I ordered three pairs of ice skates on Sunday, December 14. I received a confirmation email immediately, then received a second email on Monday with shipping information and a tracking number. On Wednesday, December 17, my order arrived. All three pairs of skates were exactly what I had ordered, and had been sharpened as I requested. I am pleased with the transaction and will order from them again in the future.

As you might expect after reading this site, I too had a bad experience. Unfortunately, I didn't take the time to research skatebuys.com (also skate-buys.com) on Epinions or anywhere else until after I ordered. As I read the reviews here, most everything that I experienced seems typical:
1. The skates were claimed to be "in stock" 2. Placed order but got email saying that the skates were out of stock 3. Nothing came for two weeks 4. Placed many many calls to customer service, but never once got through to a live person Eventually, I sent an email back saying I'm cancelling. Fortunately, it doesn't see my credit card was charged yet. If they do end up charging it, I'll have to go through the pain of cancelling the transaction. |

GO TO ANOTHER WEBSITE!!!
At first I was impressed with the products on the website. The website appeared professionally done and the choices were nice. However, once I placed the order and did not get much information regarding the shipping of the order I became worried. I emailed them and made many phone calls, but got nowhere. They did not reply to my email, and it was totally impossible to speak with someone. Also, they did not respond to any of my phone messages. It seemed to me that nobody actually worked there. I then placed a call to my credit card's customer service and found out that the purchase had been denied based on the possibility of fraud. I was glad it was canceled because I was going to ask the credit card to do so. I highly recommend buying products from another website and not SKATEBUY. |

Be aware; a Company with NO customer service!! I placed and paid an order 9 days ago via Skate-Buys.com. The money was taken from my account immediately and the order was put on hold without any notification and explanation. They didn't response to my email and never returned the call. It took me 5 days to contact a live person(horrible and very rude) through their phone system. I had to ask for my money back and canceled the order.

Worst online shopping experience I've ever had. First skates - backordered. 2nd skates - shipped to me broken. Telephone system refuses to connect you to a live person. Online return authorization form stuck in endless loop. Sent 4 separate emails and finally received RA#. Placed numerous phone calls begging for somebody who cared about their customers to call me back. Never happened. I had to pay to ship the broken skates back. If they'd been inspected before they were shipped to me, they'd have never been shipped. PLEASE stay away from Skatebuys. It's a horrible company!

Placed an order with them on the 10th. Received the order confirmation. Then nothing. No notification of any delays. Then when I contacted customer service, nothing but the runaround. So, here it is: Christmas, and of course - no skates.

Do not order from this retailer. They don't answer the phone if you have a return. They don't answer emails. Their Customer Service is absolutely horrible. My sister ordered skates for my daughter. They were the wrong size. We returned them. They never sent us new ones. Instead, they charged her credit card twice and the skates were never sent. We emailed them and called them, to no avail.

I placed an order with Skatebuys for hockey goals. They sent the wrong goals(cheaper/smaller goals). When I called, they said they would send the right goals right away. A week later...still no goals. I called again and was told they would 2nd day air the goals at no charge. A week later, still no goals. My Visa has already been charged and I have nothing to show for it. I will never purchase from them again. I recommend you don't purchase from them in the first place.

Their customer service was the worst I had ever encountered on the Internet. I placed an order and was told that it would be processed within 48hours. I called 3 days later and the order had yet to be processed. During the call I was made to feel as if I was annoying them and that I would just have to take what I could get.
Their prices are on the high end of their competition and they do not offer free shipping unless you spend $299. The only reason I purchased from them was because I was told they had my item in stock and would process my order within 48hour and get it shipped out to me. I will not be wasting my money at this site ever again! |

I ordered skates November 23rd - today is 12/20/03 and no skates. They were supposed to ship 12/6/03. Also this company does not respond to email requests for update on merchandise. They also have an extremely poor rating. Ordered as a merchant through Amazon - will probably not buy anything else through Amazon.
