I had a very specific shoe shopping need .. purchasing two pairs of summer sandals for my young daughters.  I knew I wanted a particular brand of shoe, Crocs, and so I started searching around for the best deals coupled with the best selection.  

Most of the time we try and shop through Upromise.com, as with having 3 children every penny that can go toward their college accounts helps.  Typically we order shoes on-line from Shoes.com - it's a familiar site, easy to remember, and typically has free shipping. This time we noticed, though, that Shoebuy.com had a better offer. They gave more money toward Upromise, and the more I "window shopped" Shoebuy.com had the colors, sizes and styles that I needed at prices comparable to the other store ... and free shipping as well.

Navigating around the site was easy, and the site is nicely layed out.  Since I knew the brand I wanted I was able to use the site's search function and pull up Crocs for Children. They had a wide variety of styles and colors available, as well as pictures of the style and color of shoe.  They also had reviews of the shoes left by customers - I found that really, really helpful in this case because I was torn on what shoes to buy my youngest child. When I read a few postings that mentioned this version of the Crocs being a "less wide" style, I knew it was the exact shoe I needed! 

The shoes were easy to add to my shopping cart and the site worked as most typically do with ordering. I could see the exact shoe I had in my cart, and make any adjustments as needed. I found a $5 off coupon code and the site took the code easily.   Checkout was secure and was an easy process to do.  I paid by credit card and received both a confirmation screen and a follow-up email shortly after my purchase. 

The order shipped the day after I ordered, and I received a follow-up email with tracking information from the mailing.  The package arrived safe and sound on my doorstep a few days following. The shoes were just what I needed, and fit perfectly. I credit the helpful information I found from other customers for that! 

A week or so after I received the shoes I received an email from ShoeBuy.com thanking me for my purchases and inviting me to review my shoes.  Usually these are the types of emails that I delete, but since I found the one type of shoe only due to others helpful comments, I decided to follow the link and write a short summary of how this style of shoe was indeed narrow and good for smaller feet.  I was completely shocked to then receive a follow-up email from Shoebuy.com thanking me for my review. In addition, the company stated in the email that because I had left the review they were crediting my purchase by taking an additional 5% off my order - and sure enough I logged on to my credit card statement and there was a 5% credit there! To my further delight, the email went on to give me a 10% off the next future order at Shoebuy.com.

Shoebuy.com just gained themselves a customer for life. I have never seen this level of interaction from a company, and the great service and fast shipping, along with excellent purchases, were enough for me to consider coming back. Providing a monetary bonus and percent off my future order left this particular on-line shoe company as standing above the others in my mind. I'll be looking to Shoebuy.com first the next time I need to order a pair of shoes.
