I placed a first time order with Self Expressions. I found their pricing reasonable when I compared the three products I was purchasing with other online companies. I ran into problems however when trying to pay for my purchases. I used a visa gift card given to me at my baby shower. I subsequently received an email saying that because my mailing address did not match the address of the card (a coworker purchased the card from all the money collected) that my order was cancelled. I immediately wrote back explaining the situation. I was told that I had to completely re-accomplish the order. I successfully used the same visa gift card on other web sites with no problem, so I know that it works and that it can be used for online purchases. Self Expressions should have called me before cancelling my order (I would have given them my personal credit card to push the order thru). Why else ask for my phone number if they are not going to use it when there is a problem with my order? The customer service is horrible. I do not have time to provide business to a company that makes it difficult for a customer to place an order and who makes no effort to ensure the purchase goes thru. They obviously do not want or need my business or they would have at least called to explain the problem and ask for a different credit card (I understand that for security reasons they might not accept visa gift cards but at least make an attempt to contact the customer!) I will take my business some where else.
