This store made the #9000 Sleep Number bed sound like the greatest thing since sliced bread. Believe me--it ISN'T! They got to me for $5,000 of my hard-earned cash because I have a back problem and was desperate. Do not think this bed will do anything

Almost perfect bed, uneven customer service

I love my bed, but getting the configuration I wanted took some doing. S.C. put some discontinued models on clearance about this time last year, and even with my credit I qualified via their second string "Help Card" option. But

I've had my Select Comfort 3000 queen size bed for five years now, purchased to relieve back pain that chronically interfered with my sleep. Overall, I've been satisfied with it. Reading some of the very negative reviews, I have some suggestions to

Terrible Terrible Terrible

Compressors do not hold the air. When you set your sleep number to 35 for example, for some reason the number changes when you get up in the middle of the night with a sore back. Tried 3 different compressors and the same story. Customer support states that the bed can fluctuate 5-15 points. If you are use to a setting of 35, that means 20-50. Thats like going from a down pillow to concrete.
When the bed doesnt satisfy your needs and you want to return the bed, stand by for a shocker if you chose Home Delivery. It costs $199.99 minimum to have someone package the bed back up for a mattress that you are unsatisfied with and return it. Or you could do it yourself at $29.99 for each UPS return label. Oh yeah, thats 6 boxes you need. And better yet, they took the boxes when they set it up. So now you have to buy boxes on top of that. Add $200 to the final cost of the next mattress you buy if you arent completely satisfied. Any other store with a receipt, you get your ENTIRE money credited. |

I have heard ALOT of praise for the Select Comfort Bed. While I realise this is meant for online purchases, we didn't buy online, instead we went to a Select Comfort Store, and hopefully others will be appreciative of a review regardless of the method of

Good experience but the bed stinks.

Went from a tubular water bed to the Select Comfort 5000, now both my wife and myself have lower back pain. I have to admit the folks in the store were nice and the customer service and delivery fine, but we're past the 30 days so we're stuck with this thing.
I hate to say it but I knew this was going to happen. I have a very bad back and was fine with the tubular water bed (Queen). When we went to a king they were not making the same water bed so we switched. The Select Comfort Bed is NOT for people with bad backs. You can adjust the thing till the cows come home and it won't do a bit of good. I have no axe to grind, I'm just telling the truth. I am sorry I bought this bed and will have to unload it. |

Extremely POOR Customer Service & OVERPRICED Air MATTRESS
by kintalap, January 26, 2008

Purchased a Select comfort mattress and was told by the sales rep that there was a 30 day return policy. If you don't like it just ship it back. When you call customer service for a return authorization they tell you that you cannot return the merchandise you can only EXCHANGE it. There are no returns only exchanges.
Save yourself a lot of money. The SLEEP NUMBER bed is only an overpriced air mattress. You can buy a comparable air mattress at Target or Wal-Mart for about $50. But at least they stand by their products and will gladly refund your money if you are not satisfied with it. |

We purchased our Select Comfort 7000 bed at our local store a year ago. I was disappointed that they didn't keep the beds in stock, they ship them to you. Lots of boxes and pieces to put together. The frame is blow-molded plastic. Looks cheesy, but

We purchased a sleep number bed through the TV promotion. We thought it was the answer to our problem. What they don't tell you is that the budget model has NO number. You pump it up and let it out to find your comfort zone. Or NOT! It also formed black mold on the surface of the mattress because of condensation, or sweat, I don't know. All I know is that stuff is BAD! Long story, short. The sleep number bed is disassembled in the closet and we are sleeping on a standard mattress again. You couldn't give me sleep number bed!!

I ordered the queen size mattress with fancy top, for mounting on my rigid platform. The product arrived in a short time, in a small, sturdy box. I note that the 30 day free trial requires that the product must be returned in the original package, or

very friendly salesman, gave me a discount of $200. Later when I could not sleep on this most uncomfortable bed any longer and asked to return it under its "30 night Trial " I was told that the 30 night trial did not apply because i got a discount. so, Here i have a very uncomfortable $3300 bed, no recourse for return and customer service that will not help.
Buyer beware of this company. |

It was a speedy delivery and the order was accurate, however, from the third day we had problems with the air chambers. The customer service was good and they wanted to send replacements for the air chambers. The matress was not all that comfortable as I had hoped and it was HOT to sleep on, which they say is normal. I now want to send this bed back because - who knows what kind of problems I'll have in the future! And this all for a bed I paid $2200 for? Now I want to return the bed but I have to pay the shipping...all for a bed that wasn't working. I think this is a rip off.

Bad customer service, Bad Customer service

Worst customer service I have ever had. Delivery people keep on promising to call me back with-in 24 hours. Next day I call, and they promise they will call me within 24 hours. I go to the store to complain. They tell me how the good delivery man has been promoted and now they have , and I quote " some idiot is now handling deliveries". What great service to tell me what idiots you have working for you. I call the 800 number to find out the guy on the other end cannot contact anyone in delivery. How ironic is that. He promises me someone will contact me within, you guessed it 24 hours. It is now 11 days after I have purchased my bed, and I still do not have a date of delivery. There ticket says you will have a date within 3 days. My luck, I am going to receive a payment notice before I have a bed. If you live in Wisconsin, I would sure have someone guarantee your delivery time.

When you get the mattress set, beware of smells that come from this product. The company reports using latex rubber, polyurethane foam, and polyester (polyester on pillowtop, at least). The smells supposedly wear away, but those with chemical sensitivities: beware. Do your research on outgassing from the above components of bedding.
If customer gets the 30-day trial offer, and does not want the mattress for the reason of outgassing, the company service representative says the company charges for return costs and does not deduct initial delivery costs if returned for reason of outgassing problems. They may offer to replace the new air chamber and to send a refurbished air chamber that may not have fresh smells from outgassing. |
