After under 5 years our Kenmore Elite HE3 front loading washing machine was not working. I looked on the internet for an appropriate place to order a service call and found one from sears.com. I was unable to access this for some reason and noted the price was $69.00. I found a phone number and decided to call and make the appointment. A man stated that the price was now 129.00 not 69.00 and that website was not current and was incorret.
I agreed to the 129.00.
The next morning after thinking the whole thing through I checked the sears service website that still stated 69.00 and my attempt to access it went through. I thought great, these are for the same day and the same company.
The service man from Sears comes to our home and looks at the washer and says it will be about $800.00 to fix it, so obviously we are going to get another one.
He has to charge me the 129.00 because that is the first appointment I made. I have a paper showing a confirmation of $69.00.
It does not matter I will be billed for the $129.00 even after writing to the CEO W. Bruce Johnson. I got a phone call from someone under him stating I would be billed the $129.00.
Out of principal I really believe this is WRONG BUT NOT WORTH ANY FURTHER AGRAVATION.
I WILL NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM AGAIN!!
There are worse things in life but Sears WAS our old representative of what America was, but no longer.
They may be out of business before long if they don't change the way they treat their customers.
