> I ordered a seated inversion training system online on 1/19/08. No mention was made that it was out of stock. It is 2/26/08.I sent this email to Sears:" I have called twice and was told both times
that it was coming from the original shipper, not Sears, since Sears was out of
stock of the item. It seems to me that the order could have been manufactured
and shipped to me at least twice by now. My credit card was charged on 1/20/08.
At least that part of the process was prompt.
> So, here I am paying interest on something for almost 6 weeks that I don't
have and can't use. As is often said under these circumstances, I am not a
"happy camper".
> What do I have to do to get results from you? The only thing I know to do is to start a process
with my credit card to get my money back. I'd rather have the item than the
hassle of getting my money back. Please take some action and notify me by email
what you have found out."
Finally, today, I received this response from Sears:
"Thank you for contacting Sears.
We appreciate you choosing sears.com for your order. Unfortunately, it appears
that your order was cancelled because the selected items were not available when
the order was processed and the warehouse was unable to fill your order. We show
that a refund issued to your Visa account on February 27, 2008 in the amount of
$217.78. Please be aware that your financial institution can take one to two
billing cycles to credit your account depending on their policies. We apologize
for the delay and for any inconvenience this has caused.
Look for Great Ideas throughout the store and find Sears exclusive innovations
from great brands like Sony, Kenmore, NordicTrack, Craftsman and Reebok.
Shop sears.com now to pick up great products for the season."
If the item was not in stock, why was my card charged in the first place? I don't believe that is normal business practice. If I had known then about Epinions and saw all the neg. comments about Sears, I would never have placed my order.
