Worth the trip to the store

When I saw the "Midnight Madness" offer on Sears.com for 15% off all appliances and "guaranteed" next day delivery, I thought it was too good to be true. It was. Dealing with Sears.com was one of the most frustrating experiences I have ever had purchasing online. For starters, the order took 36 hours to even be transmitted from Sears.com to Sears by which point the guaranteed date on my order was already past. During this period, neither Sears.com nor Sears "could" make changes to or cancel the order because "it wasn't in the [Sears] system yet." Calls to the delivery phone number only resulted in the customer service rep saying they had no knowledge of my order and giving me the Sears.com 800 number.
The only way to place an order with Sears is at a store. Aside from knowing details about local code in regards to appliance installation, the Sears salesperson there even spent an hour working with Sears.com trying to straighten out their mess. She even reminded me about Sears's 110% price match guarantee and offered me a web browser to show her prices from other retailers that she matched on the spot. The order in the store was instantly visible to delivery.
