TERRIBLE

I ordered an upright freezer online from Sears. I set up the delivery date at the time. Around 10am on the delivery day I got a call saying they had to reschedule for another day a week or so later. THIS SAME THING HAPPENED TWO MORE TIMES before I finally got my freezer delivered. I had to take time off work FOUR different days. Their phone reps just yessed me to death but offered no help. NEVER AGAIN!

Never had luck shopping at sears.com
by weiwu00, July 26, 2008

I ordered a tool from sears.com (pickup at a local store) today. Two hours later I got an email saying that my order was cancelled because item was not available. I went back to sear.com and found that the item is still available from that local store. I called sear.com customer service and was told when order online, "available" doesn't mean available until a confirmation email is sent by the local store. He said I can pick up from another store but the price is going to be higher because my purchase price was a mistake. He let me speak to sear.com online supervisor, who told me that when there is a pricing error Sears has the right to cancel the orders.
First of all, Sears lied to me. They cancelled my order because they made a pricing mistake but they told me item was not available. Secondly, Sear does not honor the price if they made a mistake. I never had luck shopping at sears.com. I ordered from sears.com three times and all got cancelled by them. None was my fault. Sears is going down. |

I will NEVER shop sears again

TERRIBLE, I ordered a gazebo twice online, never said it was out of stock. Second time it was on sale, and again out of stock. Both times they just cancelled my order. In the store, just as bad. The manager would not sell me the floor model, it was the last one. The manager said store policy NOT TO SELL FLOOR MODELS. While I was waiting for a salesperson to check in stock, they sold a floor model BBQ grill, right in front of me. No one returns phone calls, if you can even get them to answer. I would not deal with sears ever again. Neither online or the store. I complained online & no one seems to care no matter what.

In store pick-up? Don't waste your time.
by jcoylema, July 4, 2008

In a word: UNACCEPTABLE. The Sears.com web site gives an unsuspecting user the illusion that they can shop, select and pay for an item on-line, then go to the store to pick it up. This isn't the case. Don't be surprised that the item the web site said was in stock at the store isn't. It seems that Sears isn't synching store sales information with web sales & inventory info. Don't waste your time.

Terrible Customer Service and policies

I ordered parts for my lawn mower on line. delivered wrong item. customer service was not helpful. took too long to receive my item. I am not satisfied at all.
Sears is terrible when it comes to service. They ship the wrong Item to me. then they tried to get me to buy more items because supposedly the part I received was rebuilt and I would need these addition parts. Then they refused to send me my new item next day. Any where else in the US you can get next day shipping. They will not meet the needs of their customers. After 3 weeks of waiting I felt like a next day shipping would have restored my belief in their service. But never again. Sears use to be the place to shop for large items. I will never shop there again for anything. |

Sears.com is bad news

If I were the CEO of Sears I would be embarrassed. With a brand name as tried and true as Sears is, you would think they would have the whole customer service thing down. Not. My Sears On-Line experience was not good. In trying to exchange a lawn tractor, their systems completely broke down with little to no communication between departments or with me, the customer. Representatives were rude and were more eager to pass the ball than to deal with the problem. This will be the last time I make a purchase at Sears On-Line.

Unpleasant, unethical, poor customer service
by yoniboy, June 10, 2008

Unethical is the best way to describe Sears. We ordered a dishwasher by phone and arranged a delivery date. We also had to make sure that someone was home when the machine was delivered- which of course involves not going into the office. On the day that the dishwasher was supposed to be delivered, we got an e-mail stating that there was an additional $100 "permit fee". We called the customer service number and no one could explain what the permit was for. When we finally got to a supervisor, she was not helpful, not pleasant, and only offered to cancel our order. Well, we sure canceled and will never buy from them again - Who knows what other mysterious, hidden fees that they would have charged us? Maybe an additional $100 to plug the machine in?/

Rated 1 (poor) - 5 (best)
Overall satisfaction - 0 - the response to my email on order was not answered. customer service - 0 - I was routed between delivery and Sears.com agents and never got a resolution only an excuse that she wasn't a web expert! order accuracy - 0 - the website stated availability as current. when order was placed it was 3 weeks out. delivery speed - 1 - I wanted my item within the next week. No one could verify that the item really wasn't in stock. The answer was that I could cancel the order and take my chances that I could get my discounts at the store. |

Terrible, worse, and awful. I ordered $2000.00 worth of appliances during a Sears.com special. All the items were offered for delivery. After one week they notified me that they could not provide one item by delivery. However, it was available for pick up but not at the special price I received on line. When I contacted customer service I was told that I could get the special price. When I received my confirmation the price was full SRP and they charged my credit card. I called customer service and they said that I was getting the special price. RIGHT! Two weeks after my order I received an email stating that three more items were not available and my order would be cancelled. Sears.com sucks. They do not value my business and they do not give a damn.

Watch out for Bait & Switch
by danvw, May 12, 2008

Sears.com had a pool table on sale, without any indication that a separate top needed to be purchased. After I bought it they changed the web page AND my order confirmation on their site (but couldn't change the email confirmation I received, nor the page I printed out) changing what I bought from a pool table to a rail & leg kit. Online support first told me that if I had proof that they changed their page, they would work with me. After going to the local Sears store to show the proof as they required me to do, the online support said they have the right to change pages and are not responsible for my order...they even said this to the local sears store manager, which would have had to deal with a return.
Shame on Sears.com for hiding behind questionable legalize instead of working with the customer to work out a mistake they made on their web site. |

Not something I would do again.

Ordering parts from Sears is an experience. Ordered a wall plate for exhaust over stove, received a decal for dishwasher. Re-ordered wall plate for exhaust over stove, received a decal for dishwasher. Called company, was told they would research it. Took 3 weeks, by the time they got back to me, I had purchased wall plate at another store. When I asked for refund, (I paid via credit card) I was told it could take up to 2 billing periods to receive my refund! It sure did not take them that long to take the money from my account! Why does Sears have such an issue with sending you the parts you order and refunding credit card orders? They are in the fast lane on going downhill. This is one place I will not order from again.

Ordered a new IPAQ computer from Sears.com and received a confirming receipt that I had ordered a new computer. Sears.com shipped a refurbished computer. Customer service and every one I could contact at Sears would do nothing about the problem. They admit that it was refurbished But would not supply the new computer I ordered. Sent a letter to the CEO with supporting documentation. Can not get a reply from anyone. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM SEARS AND K MART AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN. WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH.

Finally got my money back 4 1/2 months after ordering an ammeter on line they never sent. They took the money but never sent it even after they were still selling it on line. I tried calling but the telephone agents were unsympathetic - others would say rude. I had better luck sending them an email and replying to their responses it would be shipped every few weeks to nag them. Eventually they replied they would either ship it or cancel the order and refund my money. They finally did. The order now says it's completed. Indeed it is with so much of my time wasted. I really like the Craftsman brand but it's going to be a long time before I can go in their stores again and never ever again on line.

Sears, The Great Uncommunicator
by ddarlen, March 21, 2008

I purchased an online advertised 27 in. Sansui SDTV online from Sears.com on 2-17-08. Confirmation that the set was sent to the local store was received via e-mail on 2-28-08, stating the expected arrival in the store on 2-26-08 and that I am to receive a Ready for Pick-up email soon. Well soon has not happened yet. After numerous phone calls to local and out-of-town customer service personnel, they verbally confirmed that this specific tv is unavailable for shipment due to being out of stock. None would be available until late April '08. Today I received mail to register the same tv with an extended warranty. This is unbelievable. I've now requested a refund with no charges for restocking fees. Sears should not expect me to spend another penny online or within their stores. My experience has been communicated to family and friends.

I ordered a couple of things online for instore pickup and didn't get around to picking them up (stupid me - I know). When I called and asked for a refund they refused, took it to the Better Business Bureau and they still refused, saying that I hadn't actually paid for the items even though I faxed them the bank statements showing the withdrawals. The next step is small claims court, I guess, although that's a pain in the butt. I will never, ever shop at Sears again.

How the once mighty have fallen
by buyer4, February 27, 2008

I ordered a refrigerator from the website. It took several phone calls to get my delivery time window. When the window had passed by 2 hours, it took several more phone calls to find out when they would show up. And when they did, they never actually stopped the truck, but just drove by. When I called to find out what happened, I was told that the driver had called the office to say the customer (me) had refused to take delivery! How could I refuse delivery when they had never even spoken to me?
I immediately canceled the order, which started the odyssey of attempting to get my money back. After over a month, several more phone calls, and intervention from my credit card company, I finally got the money back. Avoid Sears like the plague. |
