Shipping delayed over a month & repeated lies about the problem!

I needed an item that my local dive shop doesn't carry, they are not a dealer for this mfg. so I went online to find it. My search showed that SCUBA.COM had the item and was an authorized dealer.

I placed my order for the part along with a couple of other things on 8-17-04. Within 10 days I received everything but the $20 part. I recieved 4 emails that pushed back the delivery date due to the item being "back ordered" from the mfg.
I contacted the mfg. and asked when the item was expected to be in stock to ship. I was advised that the item had never been backordered or out of stock. SCUBA.COM had several other items on order from this mfg. that were on back order and they make it a habit to not ship anything until the entire order is complete.
I suppose that this is done to save on shipping charges. I don't have a problem with that. I have a problem with them telling me lies!
After getting this info, I made a call to SCUBA.COM to inquire about my stuff. I got the same "backordered" story. When I asked if the item could be drop shipped from the mfg., I was told the mfg was out of stock so that could not be done. I then informed the person that I knew for a fact that the mfg was not out of stock and that they were just waiting on a larger order, I got the pass the buck routine and was advised that I would contacted the following business day.
Here's the email I recieved:
Dear Diver,
RE: Order #...
Sorry for the delay. The [ITEM} are finally in at the manufacturer and will be here for shipping on 10-01-04. Your delivery date is 10-08-04 ...

Is that great timing or what? When I pin them down about their lie, the part is "finally in at the manufacturer".
I sent an email to the company advising my displeasure with their service. (All very professionally) I also told them that if they couldn't have my order on my doorstep with within the week to cancel my order & refund my money. Oh, yeah. They charged me for the item on 8-17-04. I got back an email that really didn't say anything at all other than "The ... will be available for us to ship on 10-01-04 for delivery to you 10-08-04." Nothing about cancelling my order. I sent another cancellation notice to them and finally had to call to cancel my order and have my money refunded.
DO NOT ORDER FROM SCUBA.COM or DIVERSDISCOUNT.COM. Same company.
