Sales representative was very knowledge about products, generally, and the 5100 DX, specifically. He guided me to the right combination of lens and ancilliary equipment I need for my needs. I particularly appreciated his recommendation to look at refurbished camera and lens to lower the total price. I have been a Cool Pix user for nearly nine years (5000 8 megapixels, wide-angle), purchased through a Ritz retail store in Denver in 2003. Before that, I had been an SLR user (always Nikon) for many years. I very much liked the Cool Pix camera for its compactness, resolution, and ease of handling. The picture were always sharp and color true. We discussed the advantages of the SLR over a replacement Cool Pix, and I settled on the SLR. He came across as more interested in tailoring the purchase to my needs than simply making a sale. I amy typically turned-off by a hard sale. He got back to me immediately when we lost telephone connections. I was extremely impressed. Hence, the high marks and my complete confidence. Please express to him my pleasure with the purchase process,the product, and his professionalism.

Product ordered was not available. I received notification that it was backordered, but no information about expected delivery date. After several more messages saying the product was still backordered, I cancelled the purchase through Ritz customer service. However, two days later, the product was shipped to me and my credit card was charged. It was a big hassle to get the shipment returned and to get the charges removed from my card. (Eventually, however, it was done.)

Until the delay in shipment occurred, the experience was a good one. Once we were advised of the delay, customer service was extremely poor. If customer service is going to be outsourced to another country, at least make sure that English can be spoken clearly. In addition, doesn't do any good to email - emailed four times and never received a response. If utilize Ritz again, it will be through a store.

The call center was in India. They could not get my name right or my address. Once they got that right, I was sent an email telling that the product was on back order and they wanted me to but something else. I made a request to the call center for a refund, which was like pulling teeth. I then called a Corprate number and was told that I could get a full refund. In the end I was charged $34 dollars for shipping when I was told more than once that i would get a FULL refund. WILL TELL EVERYONE i KNOW TO NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS SITE!!!!!

I spoke to three different individuals and while they tried to be helpful, I couldn't understand their responses and in some cases they didn't understand my questions. Did not get opportunity to finalize purchase after choosing paypal option. No estimated date, no chance to enter gift card(which I wanted to use) or promo code. By the way, I found out later that you can't even use Ritz gift cards bought in the store. Immediately called and tried to cancel order which the website says is possible. I had gone to a different page on the website trying to figure out what to do and did not have my order# or my confirmation email. Was told by customer service whom I could not understand because of incredibly thick accents, that there was nothing I could do until I had that #. 15 minutes later, I Got the email and was told there was nothing they could do bc the order had already been put out for shipment. WHAT?!!!!! How is that possible? Sent 2 emails to customer service with all my grievances and they sent a generic response on an order placed in 2007!!!!!!!!! Worst customer service ever! Sent another email and finally got a very brief email email saying the order had been stopped. Really? WHy couldn't that happen 15 min after I ordered it? I haven't received the lens and I better not! I will NEVER buy from this online company! Apparently the online store and the actual store are not the same entity, which is unfortunate that the stores have to be associated with them because the customer service in every store I have been in has been beyond exceptional. On Saturday, November 26, I placed an order with Ritz Camera, paying with PayPal. The site pulled my billing address from PayPal (an address where I cannot easily receive packages) and set it as the shipping address for the order, not allowing me to override it and designate a different shipping address (as every other e-commerce site on the planet does). I immediately contacted Customer Service through Live Chat, and spoke to Emmanuel Lloyds. He informed me that, despite all logic, it was impossible to change the shipping address for the order from the back end (despite the fact that I placed the order mere minutes prior to the conversation), which was extremely frustrating, but he assured me that he would cancel the order and I could place it again if I wanted (which, at this point, I obviously did not).
The afternoon of Monday, November 28th, I still hadn't received an email about my order cancellation, so I returned to Live Chat and spoke to Mr. Lloyds again to check on the status and to ensure that my order had indeed been canceled. He said the process was underway and that I'd receive an email shortly. Much to my dismay, I received a shipment notification that same evening! Once again, I immediately contacted customer service to try to clean up the mess that Ritz Camera's backwards system had created, but the person I spoke to (I can't remember his name; it may have been Frank West) said there was nothing they could do but that I could return the item once I got it.
I was able to contact FedEx myself and reroute the package to the sender. (I have no idea why your customer service team wasn't able to do that themselves). I spoke to Live Chat again to demand a full refund, and to not be charged the 15% restocking fee included in their return policy, but that takes several days so we'll see if they lived up to their word. I will never shop here again after the horrible service I've gotten from Ritz Camera.

Had to make about 8 phone calls to customer service, 5 e-mails, and 3 live chat calls. Customer representatives hung up on me and never answered my questions and concerns truthfully. They could barely speak English and only comment was everything will be alright. I kept getting e-mails from them to call the customer service number because there was a problem with the order. After I had had enough I told them to cancel the order because I could go to my local Best Buy store and buy the cameras for the same price. That is when they finally shipped the order. They are a pain to deal with. They would never let me speak to a manager or supervisor. Beware if you decide to order from them.

Horrible and "grey market "retailer. Sold "grey market" Nikon D7000 without stating that the item being sold was a grey market. Customer service is borderline non-existent due to poor linguistic aptitude of Mumbai folks. When tried to inquire about my grey market Nikon camera, never heard back from them. Price may be competitive, but be ware of shady business model of Ritz Camera. On the positive note, the camera works well so far. Took over 15,000 shots and still ticking strong. Only concern is when the camera fails, my camera is not covered by Nikon USA warranty due to its grey market status.

I bought from Ritz to save on taxes and,while they have free shipping, I paid for 3day delivery. The camera was a gift for a 40th birthday. The memory card and cleaning kit shipped right away. After a week of watching the sight for the camera to ship I connected to the on line chat where my name was consistently spelled wrong but in different ways, was responded to in in incomplete sentences with poor grammar and "nothing we can do" to get it to me on time. When I asked why I wasn't notified that the 3day shipping would not be an option on the camera at the time of purchase I was told it only applies once it ships. What? I have never paid for expedited shipping to have a company wait 3 weeks to ship but, oh yeah, then ship it 3day. Frustrating. So I asked to be refunded for the extra shipping which was not a problem. THEN the camera shipped the NEXT day but now regular ground because they refunded the shipping charges!!! So I recieved the camera the day AFTER my husbands birthday and did not have his gift for the party. I am so disappointed in the lack of professionalism, lack of attention to detail, and the employees not having the resources they need. Why the employee handling the online chat with me did not know or disclose that the camera would ship the next day baffles me. Never again even if the taxes save me $300.00. Shop with Amazon and save yourself the headache.

Camera arrived a week after other equipment purchased at the same time from other vendors, and had difficulty accepting the item because a signature was required, but I wasn't allowed to pick up at the local FedEx center (may have been a FedEx issue). Camera was defective (wouldn't read any lenses) so I called to request an RMA and was told I would get it in 3 business days. 4 days later, I went to the live chat help again requesting the RMA. Recieved Via Email 3 days later. Returned item, but 3 weeks later I never got my refund. Again consulted the online chat, and verified that my item had arrived on time and that my information would be sent to the refund department. Waited 3 more weeks and saw nothing and again went to the online chat. I was told my claim would go to the complaint department, and the next day I received an email that my item had been returned, and later another email saying that I would receive the full refund. It has not shown up on my card or in the mail, however it has only been a day. I placed the initial order almost 3 months ago, and am only now getting close to having my money back. Will not shop here again, but will instead go to the Rits/Kits camera stores (separate company) where the quality and service is superb.

They listed the product as in stock and will ship in 1 to 2 days. When It didn't ship, support informed me that it was NOT in stock and they had no idea as to when it would ship. The support staff at one point canceled my order when I merely asked if they could. Then informed me that they couldn't reinstate it (which would have cost me a $250 discount). When I requested escalation, it was reinstated, but, with no expectation set as to when it would be shipped. It did ship about a week later. This entire time the site listed the item as in stock and ready to ship.
Ritz is generally reputable, but, listing an item as in stock and ready to ship, when it is not, is dishonest advertising. The customer service experience was poor, leading me with the feeling that I had to force them to do their job rather than their helping me without prompting.
I'll go back to BH.

It seems on line they couldn't local or know if item was beening shipout or order was cancelled. I ordered wooden letters from them a month ago, and when I received my order, only one was in the box, though the packing slip said both had been sent. On the single item I did receive, there was a label with all the information and quantity: 2, but the two was crossed out and someone had written in 1 with a pen. I called customer service and was told they would need to check and see if both had been sent. I told him I was the customer, and whatever their records showed, I had received an incomplete order. He told me he'd get back to me. After a week, I emailed customer service and asked for a prompt resolution. After another week of no reply, I emailed again. After another week, I called again, and was given the same runaround as the first time. Although my order was small this time, I'm totally frustrated by their attitude. I will never trust them with another order, and I'll be looking elsewhere when I get my next camera lens. Don't trust them with your money!

I tried to order a Lenovo W520 ThinkPad computer from Ritzcamera.com but my order was cancelled the next day by Ritzcamera. No notice of the cancellation was sent. I found out on my own when I went to the website to get tracking information and saw that the order was cancelled. I used the online chat to ask why they cancelled my order and was told that it was cancelled due to fraud. The salesman offered to place the order again but I refused since I would lose my extra cashback bonus from Discover Card. I think this is a bunch of baloney since I called my credit card in advance to inform them of the pending purchase, and I even used a link off of the Discovercard.com website so I could earn 5% cashback bonus on this $1557 purchase= $77.85 cash back. I just think that Ritz didn't want to pay the extra cashback bonus, so they rejected my order. What irks me is that Ritz now has all my information: credit card number, name, address, e-mail, and phone number, without going through with the purchase. So even if they lost my sale, they can still sell my information to telemarketers and advertisers. I will never buy from Ritz again and highly advise others not to take the risk. Any potential savings is not worth compromising your privacy. Ritz is an undependable seller. It even says on their website that they reserve the right to refuse any sale at any time for any reason. My advice is to steer clear and buy from someone else.

I called several times and they said that they would send the e-mail again and they never did. One representitive even hung up on me( not disconnected). Terrible experience. I ordered an ASUS 1015B from them because they were the only ones advertizing the model with the C50. When they sent it to me the model only had a C30 (single instead of dual processor). It's been a week and I'm still waiting for them to process the return. Customer service online help is useless. No one knows what they are doing. Even after I reported it on Monday, then called back on Tuesday to hear what the status was, I had to reiterate the story again. Then on Wednesday I had another call asking me why I was returning it. I also told them that they are falsely advertizing. Last time I went to the website (yesterday) they are still advertizing the model with the C50 even thought they told me they don't carry it. They can't even tell me how many days it takes to process an RMA and of course my credit card cycle ended and now I have to make payment on the computer I didn't even want.
