I like the redEnvelope site, or to be more accurate, I like the redEnvelope merchandise. I not only find myself shopping there for gifts, but see their items at other people's homes. For example, last week we went to a birthday party where everyone had to pick a coaster from a bag as they came in. When you turned it over, there was a picture of another guest and the object was to find this person and introduce yourselves, visit for awhile then put your coaster back in the bag and repeat 3 more times. Only trouble was, ALL of the photos were BABY photos so it made it A LOT harder, and I'll admit, a fun way to get to know the other people at the party! These photo coasters are available at redEnvelope.com for $30 per set of four. I am not sure where they got theirs as they were given to them as a gift.


FINDING WHAT YOU NEED

1. The Search option which product name or item number.

2. The bar on the top of the home page with 4 main categories. Each of these will then offer subcategories to help refine your search.

• Occasion ~ (15 subcategories)
• Recipient ~ (8 subcategories)
• Shops ~ (15 subcategories)
• Catalog (which lets you browse their most recent catalog)

All of these options follow you around as you shop, making it easy to switch areas while browsing.


SHOPPING

When you find a product you are interested in you click on the name or picture to get more information. You can enlarge the photo to get a better idea of what the item looks like.

To purchase an item, you put in the quantity of the item you want, pick a color, put in who you want to send it to then click on the ADD TO BAG button. You can then continue shopping or head to checkout.

Once you are ready to checkout you need to give all the regular billing and mailing information. After picking a password, you will be able to have this information on file and save time on future orders.

After ordering, you will get a detailed order confirmation email and another one when the package is sent. You are able to track your purchase online.


SHIPPING

There are three shipping options available at redevnelope.com ~

• Standard
• Priority
• Rush

• Standard shipping is a flat $7.95 fee and you should get your items within 5-7 business days.

• Priority shipping cost $15.90 Your shipment should arrive within 2 business days.

• Rush shipping is $22.90 and you should have your order the next business day.

They charge sales tax on orders sent to California and Ohio.

I have only used the standard shipping and it has always arrived within the delivery window.

While their prices can be high,(I wouldn't pay $135 for pjs!) they do offer a nice selection for gifts. I have ordered gifts for birthdays, showers and housewarmings and have never been disappointed with any of them. I really like the baby keepsake kit as a baby shower gift ~ it has a spot for a photo as well as an impression of their foot and their hand ~ too cute.

My favorite gift from the redEnvelope was the wishbone necklace given to both my twin and I from our Mom. Growing up, we would always break the wishbone from the Christmas turkey to see whose wish came true! And now we both have our own wishbone :-)

I like the flat rate shipping and find it makes me buy more per order, a nice bonus for them, but not for my Visa balance!

I am giving the site 4 stars because their site is easy to navigate, their products are high quality, they offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee and their delivery is right on time. I am not giving them 5 because their selection could be larger and their prices are too high for everyday buying. I did not factor in customer service because I have never dealt with them.

I would recommend the redEnvelope site as a great place to find gifts that are sure to please.
