ReStockIt

I no longer get free shipping on the items I order so am looking for another vendor that offers free shipping on these items. I really do like this vendor though, just would like the free shipping back on the items I usually order.

On 2/19/2009 4:58:57 PM I placed an order for Kingston Flash Memory Card - 2 GB - SD SKU:87149C UNIT PRICE:$6.29.

On 2/24/09 I received an email from the company that said "Unfortunately, we currently do not have inventory of the Kingston Flash Memory Card - 2 GB - SD that you ordered. We have canceled and credited your credit card for this portion of the order."

I checked their website and the item still shows 1701 in stock. When I called to ask about this, they claimed it was illegal to ship this item to California, but they could not explain why it was illegal for them to ship (its not a weapon, these items are sold it stores all over California).

There is nothing in their terms of service that says they don't ship to California, nor anything on the item page that says the item can't be sold in California.

This sounds like they either don't want to honor the price or they are having some kind of undisclosed legal problem with the State of California that they have not disclosed.

Except for a slight delay in viewing products at merchant's site (caused by large number of graphics to download), item was found, ordered and received with little difficulty. Since reasonable number of items could be purchased (versus rediculous minimum amount for an order ) would use ReStockit again in a heartbeat.

My first experience with ReStockIt.com - Two disappointments:

1. Lincoln Industrial Item 1133 was described on their website as "Made in USA" but when I received the item it was clearly marked "Made in India". Is that legal?

2. The status of my order never changed from "Order Being Processed" - even after I had received the product - so there was no way to tell from my end what was going on.

I suggest you buy from a company that does not lie to you, and one which will keep you informed about the progress of your order. For me, ReStockIt.com was not that company.

Used internet to place order. Everything went smoothly from selecting the product to final receipt. The only "rebate" I had offered to me was a 10 or 15% off coupon that I used and got my final price lowered accordingly. I remember there being some confusion as to where to put the coupon code on the order screen, but I can't recall any details. When I use this site again, I'll make a note to remember any glitches in more detail.

After 3 days and my credit card being billed I was informed that they did not carry the product I had ordered. It took another 3 weeks for my credit card to be credited which means I had to pay a finance charge as its a 25 day card.

Good merchandise; fabulous price; super fast shipping. Only complaint is order came in two shipments and there was no notice of this in the first box or on the website. Called the company because I thought the order was short one item. A simple notice that the order would be in two shipments on the packing list, website or the confirmation e-mail would have saved me - and them - a call.
