I purchased from Racks and Stands 6 years ago and was very satisfied. Not sure what has changed since then, but it was 10 days after I placed my order before I realized I hadn't received a tracking #. I telephoned to inquire and was told: computer was down; they couldn't get anyone to answer at the warehouse: I'd be the first to know about my order status; and finally, after two days, an e-mail telling me the product was discontinued.

I ordered five CD/DVD racks. They were received ahead of schedule. Unfortunately one of the five was damaged in transit. When I contacted customer service to determine what I was supposed to do with the damaged rack, I was advised it would be replaced, and that occurred within a very few days. I am competely satisfied with the merchandise and impressed by the customer service.

Racks and Stands shipped me a KD Leslie Dame CD storage system. It arrived in two cartons, both damaged to the extreme. Contents of the merchandise were visible through the ripped cartons and appeared flimsy and not of the quality described. Packaging was inadequate to insure future shipments would not arrive with the same level of damage.
I refused the shipment with UPS and told Racks & Stands I did not want a replacement. They told me I HAD to take a replacement or they would charge me shipping. I am now fighting over $150 in shipping charges for Racks and Stands sending me defective merchandise and me trying to refuse it. This is beyond belief! |

Product was not as advertised and Racks and Stands refuses to do the right thing.
I ordered a Leslie Dame CD-280 - Deluxe Multimedia Storage Rack in Oak. The product that was delivered was not the same as the one advertised. The product was advertised as: Solid Wood Veneer over MDF (medium density fiberboard) Heavy Duty Construction Weight of 70 lbs. Free Delivery The product I received was: Plastic laminate over wafer board Light weight construction Weight of less than 35 lbs. When I asked to return the product, they insisted on charging me outbound shipping as well as return shipping which meant my total outlay would equal the original advertised price of the product. Racks and Stands sold me a product by fraudulent means and will not make good on it. I have asked them repeatedly to refund my purchase price in full and to pay for return shipping of the product. They have stopped responding to my correspondence. |

Overall it was excellent. The only complaint is the freight company who delivered the item. I specifically told them that I had to have an afternoon time slot on the day they wanted to deliver and they called me back and told me I had a morning time slot even though I had requested an afternoon time. They were aware, but just couldn't do anything about it. It was going to take another week to get a new time slot in a time that would work for both them and me. So I had to rearrange my entire schedule and take time off of work to be able to be there for the delivery. They were most inconvenient and not very apologetic about it. Did not appreciate their lack of working with me on this. Other than that, the shopping experience was excellent (web site was great) and the item is lovely and just as expected...good quality.

My first order (media storage) came on time (UPS delivery, left @ door). My second delivery (entertainment center) came about an hour late, therefore, was "almost on-time" (white glove delivery) - which isn't too bad. Furniture was as expected and/or exceeded expectations. Love the entertainment unit - very solid piece!
I had a small issue with the price matching on the cherry hill entertainment unit. I found it for a lesser price (including s/h) and filled out their price match form. The response I received from customer service (Rachel M) indicated she was unable to verify the price match - as if she didn't even check the site. I emailed her with no response. After a couple of calls to the service center, I spoke with Keith(?) who was very helpful and provided the price match for me immediately.
The website was fairly easy to navigate, though the comparison feature was a little limited - I couldn't seem to be able to compare items that were not on the same page (ie, if there were more than one page of furniture matching what I was looking for and I wanted compare a piece from page 1 to a piece on page 3, I wasn't able to do so - when you go to the next page, it seems to clear out the comparison from the previous page)
Overall, I am VERY happy with my purchases and will recommend RacksandStands.com to friends & family who are in search of media furniture.

The site rates the products if offers, in terms of construction quality and possibility of delivery damage. That's possibly helpful, if I assume their ratings are accurate and not just to steer you to their high-margin items. In any case, I favored the products they rated highest, (and possibly as a result?) bought high-priced items, and was very satisfied with both construction quality and delivery condition.
Also the site is one of those that give plenty of information about the products, which was important to me.
