I live about 40 miles from the nearest REI store (Tualatin). It is also close to the nearest Trader Joes. Some times we will combine trips to both stores especially when we've shipped a large order to the store to save on costs. When we have a small order we have it shipped directly to our home to save on fuel costs.

I LOVE shopping REI and REI online. Online is easy, super accurate, and almost always faster than I expect. I have had to return on rare occasion. I have brought it into the store and had no hassle in exchanging or returning. My dividend this year must be huge!

I like to shop at REI for my 3 teenagers and myself, I have been a member for a long time. But being a single parent it can be expensive. Also being a plus size (trying to reduce) woman I normally cannot find any clothes that fit me. So I don't by the clothes there.

REI definitely needs a better packing tracking program. Half my order was delivered but I had no idea when or if the other half was on it's way. The packing reciept didn't mention the other half and it wasn't listed on line. Normally I ship store to store unless I'm out of town and need to have items shipeed directly to me. LOVE REI though!! Thanks for all the quality merchandise at affordable prices!

My order was shipped quickly and I was received well at the store.The person assisting with the fitting of the product was somewhat helpful, but did not follow through after my trying/fitting the product to find out whether the purchase was a correct fit, or that I wanted to keep it or send it back(he just told my husband that if we needed any more help to let him know and walked away).

I was helped as soon as I walked in. I was shown what I wanted in several colors and sizes. Someone was always nearby to answer my questions. Staff was very friendly and helpful. When I decided to order online, I found the site easy to navigate. Picking up my order was very speedy and my item arrived before the day it was scheduled, in perfect condition. I couldn't be happier!

Tracking sucks for ship-to-store service. I will be frank. My product wasn't shipped till about 5 days after I placed the ordered which I had anticipated since it's economy shipping, but all the tracker on the website said was my order was still processing. I ended up calling customer service for fear that something was wrong since this was my first time shopping with REI online. A little more info on the status would be appreciated and on top of that perhaps locations it passes through when it finally does get shipped. As for the shipping itself though, it was better than I thought it would be (which isn't really saying muched as I was expecting 2 weeks). The website estimated a week and a half's delivery, but it actually arrived in about 7 or 8 days. I've had faster shipped economy, but you can't complain much when it's free and your product still gets to you in great condition. On a good note: Love the customer service. This chick helped me out when I called about my order and she explained to me a couple questions I had about when it would be shipped and how the transaction would take place. Decent selection on items for a pretty competitive prices. I will definitely shop again with REI.com, I just might hesitate with the ship-to-store option depending on how fast I want it. Good service!

Chose to use REI because of membership rebate. The nearest store is still over 10 miles away, so rebate was important and there are four other similar stores much closer. Store carries a higher quality of products. Expected date in store was nebulous, just we'll let you know when we ship to store and then when you may pick up. Was concerned as family member was leaving for a camping trip and not sure the items would arrive in time.
