I ordered 5 oz. Royal Secret Body Cream as a gift and had it shipped directly to the recipient. When it arrived, it was totally empty! All that was left were finger smudge marks on the bottom and sides; I was totally mortified and embarrassed, as it was a gift, but thankfully the recipient told me about it.
I email the company and they aplogized and said "this is not how we would have shipped out the product so perhaps there was an issue during shipping" (poor excuse), and offered to send another, which I agreed to. This time it arrived in a 6 oz. container and the top 1/8th was gone, as well as being unsealed. It was obviously not new. Again, I emailed the company; they arranged for Fed Ex pick-up (I returned both).
In both cases, I question the sanitation level of unsealed, used products.
Perfume Emporium was very prompt in refunding my credit card and arranging the return of the items, however, I've emailed them several times requesting an explanation and they're response is very evasive and general, providing no explanation for receiveing used products. Based on customer reviews, my complaint is not an isolated incident. I would think
one time of a customer receiving "used merchandise" would immediately put stricter quality control in place to avoid a repeat.
I think potential customers need to be aware that there's a possibility they will receive used goods.
