THE WORST ONLINE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD!

WARNING! DANGER! I had a terrible, horrible experience with eoutletmall.com (also does business as "FactoryOutletStore.com). I placed an order for a Panasonic Home Theater System which was offering a $50 rebate. On the website, the picture said "brand new" and on their "F.A.Q." section, the website defines "brand new" as "factory-sealed". The price was very good and shipping and handling was included at no extra charge. However, when I received the box, it looked as if it had been around the world a few times. The box was ragged and faded and had large gouges cut from it. It had obviously been opened and re-sealed as I could clearly see where the original tape had torn away some of the printing on the box. The UPC code and serial number information, required to get the $50 rebate, had been cut off the box entirely! When I called eOutletmall.com and finally reached customer service, I was told that I should send the home theater system back and reorder! I suggested they send a new one and have UPS pick this one up at the time the new one was delivered, but I was told that was impossible. The box weighed over 60 pounds but I was told they would credit only $10 for return shipping. I finally spoke with a woman who claimed to be the Customer Service Manager, the Sales Manager and finally the General Manager. She promised to credit me for the purchase price plus $20 for shipping if I returned it. I did return it and they did credit the original purchase price but refused to credit the shipping charges. They shipped to me a product that had been opened and was NOT factory-sealed and which therefore, by law, must be sold as refurbished, but they sold it as "brand new". This is clear and intentional misrepresentation. I would not ever do business with this company again under any circumstances. It cost me the return shipping charges to learn this lesson. LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE!
