i ordered 2 hdmi cables on 12/28/2008, never recieved the order and was charged for them. i have written quite a few e-mails ,responses was very slow or not at all!! it is now jan. 26.2009 and my order has been canceled for about 2 weeks and still no refund!! i can,t even get them to answer my e-mails and of course ,theres no phone # to contact them, now i know why. this company is one of the worse i have ever delt with and i shop a lot on line!! buyer ----beware!!

I placed an order with PC Universe through Amazon. I received no word from the seller except for two automated letters from Amazon. The first confirmed my purchase and the charge to my gift card. The second was received a week later and told me that the seller had canceled my order.
Why did it take a week to cancel? Why was it canceled in general? The world may never know. I do know one thing though... this is not the behavior of a company that respects its customers. I will not be returning. |

Speed of delivery was great. Unfortunately, they sent me a cord that was obviously broken. All anyone would have to do is look through the see-through package to see that it was missing an entire connector! I've received items that didn't work before

I wasn't exactly sure when I ordered this product. I had never purchased anything from PC Universe. Who are these people, are their prices for real? I took a chance and ordered a printer, which was priced lower by a good amount than anyone else. I feel like I've won the jackpot! Everything from start to finish, went perfectly.

PC Universe did very well with my order. I only ordered one thing, but it came surprisingly quickly. I noticed the shipping was a little higher than at other places I'd looked, but the price for the merchandise was a little lower, so it balanced out.

Great Prices, Fair Shipping, no hidden fees. I bought 3 JBL noise canceling headphones (510's) Their price was $46., elsewhere on the web was up to $160. for the SAME items. Cannot say how great these people are. Ordered overnight service, they were here the next day, no problems I will consider anything that they carry that I might need again, Thanks

I was really disappointed with this transaction. The product box was completely destroyed, and I assumed at first that was just because they had shipped it in a bubble envelope. However, the product was clearly used; there were no papers in it at all and there were dirty fingerprints all over it as if someone had been eating chocolate when (re)packaging the item. The price was good but not that much better than other places, and while the item works, when I order a new item, I expect the item to be, well, NEW.

Within the last few months I've purchased several items from PC Universe, including two 22" LCD monitors, a router, 2 wireless keyboard/ mouse combinations and network cables. I have been pleasantly surprised with both the quality of the products offered and the timely delivery process.
As to customer service,the few times that I have called, (mainly to get shipping or additional device application info)I was lucky enough to be connected with "Steve" who provided the details in a friendly, professional manner. Also, being a total neophyte to networking, I relied upon the product descriptions to accurately reflect the capabilities of the devices that were selected. Everything went together without a hitch and when I activated it all, I felt almost "Gatesian" (my term)as my little home LAN happily streamed data between 4 stations and the web. INCREDIBLE COINCIDENCE: I ordered a cable YESTERDAY AFTERNOON which also featured free shipping via UPS Ground.As I was writing this review, (I absolutely swear this is true) UPS knocked on my door to deliver it!This amounted to next day free shipping! Talk about timely delivery! I know this can't happen with every order but I'm almost speechless. Almost. Buy with confidence from PCU. |

Unfair Defective Return Policy

Ordered a combo USB keyboard and mouse (Keytronics). Merchandise arrived on time and in good condition. Two weeks later the mouse died. PC Universe's policy is the customer is liable for return shipping regardless of whether there is a defect (not refundable). They also required me to ship everything back even though the keyboard still worked. It was not worth the shipping to do so and I bought a new mouse.
PC Universe states on their website that there competition has similar policies. You can find merchants that will refund your return shipping if the merchandise is determined to be defective (e.g. buy.com). Other merchants will ship you new merchandise with a return shipping (prepaid) label. The merchant usually gives you a deadline to return the defective merchandise in order to avoid an additional charge. Be careful and compare. I found PC Universe's customer service friendly on the phone, and cooperative. However, receiving an RMA number and return shipping instructions take up to 7 days. I never received a response from an email and had to call to get answers regarding the defect. |

These guys mirepresent many of the products they sell. In other words, they will advertise something as other then what it is.
I ordered headphones from them, they sent me a different model. Both models looks similar, but sound totally different. The model I oredered are the nice sounding ones, they sent me the crappy sounding ones. And if you read other reviews, you see they do this quite frequently. In other words; it's intentional! |

I ordered a MSI 7600GT graphics card and was shipped a MSI 7300LE card instead. A simple "bait-and-switch." The advertised price $58.02 for the 7600GT was very good, but it is significantly more than the 7300LE sells for at most on-line sites.
UPDATE: PC Universe ignored my emails to customer support; however, they did contact me after I posted this opinion. They offered to refund my credit card immediately and arrange for UPS or FedEx to call me to arrange return of the item at no expense to me. To date, my account HAS NOT been credited. UPS did show-up at my door, without calling first. Luckily, my son happened to be home so the item has been shipped for return. |

Over all I have have had a great shopping experience with PC Universe. They have been good regarding communications and my product is shipped today.
My only issue is not directly with PC Universe. I actually found PC universe indirectly through Amazon. Amazon had the listed the printer at a lower price with free shipping. When I followed the link to PC Universe I found the printer at a little higher price, but there was no free shipping. I was more confused than upset. |

Very pleased with this transaction. Could not find this printer at local retailers, so I turned to the web. After searching several stores on line I happened across PC Universe. Price was super, store rating was good and they were listed with the BBB, so I placed the order. Two days later my printer was at the door. I don't see any way they could have done any better. Horrible Experience!
Ordered a printer. Called two weeks later when I hadn't seen it delivered. Apparently, I ordered a discontinued item. I replaced the order with another printer. For my trouble, they gave me 2nd day delivery. Another week later, it still had not come. Upon talking with customer service, the order had not been filled. I had been charged for the new printer, and the old order was not cancelled nor refunded. My third call to customer service also secured a 2nd day delivery, no break on price. My printer has now arrived, after 4 days. They had my email and phone number with the orders, but yet did not contact me when there was a problem. I will not buy from them again. |

Their products are OK, but their customer service level and handling process are very poor.
I ordered a USB flash memory from them (Confirmed with their email), paid express process since I need them urgently. End up receiving the wrong item (A Toner cartridge for a Dell printer). Called and emailed them and they claim it will take 3-5 days to get a RMA and return instructions to me. After 5 days without hearing anything from them, I called again and they said it will take 7 business days to get the return instruction - Just the return instruction and an RMA# for 7 days? Now we are talking about services. When I asked if they can ship the item I ordered, they said NO and need to wait until I get the RMA# and ship the wrong item back and when they receive it and inspect it (Who know how long that will take) then they can either credit me back or ship the item I ordered (Hopefully it will not be more than a month for something I ordered with express process). |

Delivery speed was slow, due to an item being backordered. This wasn't displayed until AFTER I ordered and went to view the status of my order. Then, once I received the item, it was defective. I tried calling the customer service number, but it took too long for them to answer so I had to hang up. Then I tried emailing but got no response. I finally contacted customer service in another email and am waiting for them to tell me what actions to take since I need the item SOON for a birthday gift.
