I have ordered two things from One Call. Both of them were high end purchases that I would not normally have done via a mail order type company, but I was completely impressed by their service. The two items were a Sony 36" Vega XBR television and a Harman/Kardon AVR7200.
The first thing that impressed me is that when you call them, a sales representative picks up the phone. No phone menus to traverse and no long hold periods. Next, they are non-commission based. No high-pressure sales tactics.
When I ordered the Sony Vega, I had seen that they had a promo the previous month where they gave you the TV stand for free. On the Vega, this is a $300 part. I mentioned this to the rep and he said no problem, they would do it for me even though the promo was over. Overall savings on TV and stand (vs Sears or Circuit City): approx $800 (and that includes S&H). Due to the large size of the TV, it has to shipped via freight. No problem - six days later a large truck shows up at my house (yes they told me when they would be there). The box was unscathed and the TV was in perfect working condition.
Next is the AVR7200. I purchased this last week at a significant savings. Online, you can now get it for about $900, while Circuit City is still trying to sell it for $1800. Through One Call, I got it for $840, which includes S&H. After convincing my wife to let me get this, I placed my order over the phone with a rep. I chose their standard shipping option, which was the FedEx express saver. I placed my order Monday afternoon and the rep said he would get it shipped out that day. To my surprise, the 80 pound receiver was delivered to my house by Thursday noon. The item was double boxed (receiver box inside a bigger box with packing) and in great condition.
I would recommend anyone looking for electronics to take a look at One Call. Their website is very informative and their staff will answer any of your questions via web-chat or over the phone.
