I purchased a Halloween costume for my son and paid over $7.00 for shipping for an item that was only a few ounces. Unfortunately the item didn't fit at all. It was very cheaply made and would unsnap as soon as he sat up. The description said 16-24lbs, but that couldn't possibly be right. I called right away to try to get an exchange but the "customer service" rep that I spoke to told to me to just try again online. So, rather than getting yet another costume that was mis-sized, I decided to send it back. Three days later, I received delivery confirmation from the post office that One Step Ahead had recieved it. Five days later, I called to see where my refund was. I was told first that they hadn't recieved it, then when I gave my confirmation number, they admitted that they had recieved it, but to keep waiting on the refund (which shouldn't take anytime at all since it was a debit card!). Five more days...and I'm still waiting. Oh, by the way...they don't refund shipping, so I didn't really get my money back. I bought an item for $15.00 and ended up paying $7.00 for them to ship me a mis-sized item and $4.00 to send it back. In all, I'm in the hole $9.00, or at least I hope to be if they ever get around to refunding me. This company is not worth visiting. Save your time and money and shop elsewhere. Customer Service is the worst and shipping is crazy. I buy a lot of merchandise online and have never had such a hard time getting a simple transaction completed. This is why some people still insist on shopping only in stores- what's the advantage on buying online if you might end up getting financially penalized if the item doesn't work out or isn't as it was described? If this were an ebay store, I can't imagine they would still be up and running. I can't say enough about how unhappy I am with this company.
