I ordered a U-shape workstation online and it is over 300 pounds. The price is good and the workstation looks nice on the picture. The shipping fee is $120 which is a little over my expectation but still within reasonable range at my first thought, though I no longer think so. Officefurniture does have delivery information on their webpage so read it twice before you order. Inside delivery is available with no additional charge if your heaviest box is over 200 pounds, which I really doubt if it will happen because they can always place parts into smaller cartons to avoid this - I got two cartons for mine. Otherwise, you are the one who's responsible to take the cartons off the truck because only a driver will be on the truck. In addition, they only deliver Monday to Friday during regular working hours (!!!) and no arrival window can be determined. The shipping company said that they could call me 30mins before the arrival.
So don't order something heavy unless you:
1. Have people help you to move the furniture into the house and they will be available from Monday to Friday.
2. Work in flexible hours or can run from where you work to home within 30 mins.
3. Willing to pay extra dollars on top of the delivery fee for additional service.
Update: $135 is added on top of $120 in my case to unload the furniture and move it into my garage. Stair carry requires additional charges!
4. Have a truck or pick-up youself so you can go to their local warehouse to pick it up yourself during weekdays.
Good luck on your order!
Customer service is nice and reps are working with the delivery company on this. I will update this review after we work out a way to solve this problem. Anyway, Officefurniture.com really need to select a better shipping partner.
