Defective Item and problem to Return

Do not order on internet !!
I received a defective product . I ask to return and I spent three days at home on three different scheduled pick up and nobody appears. At customer service nobody knows why, nether who will pick up. I ask for an address to delivery for my self and they don't give me. I want to by another product and they don't refund until they pick up the item. Don't forget, avoid problem to your self . Don't buy !!! |

THE WORST!!! Promised next day delivery. 2 days later I called only to find out that the much needed item was never in stock and they weren't sure when they would get it. If I hadn't called I'd still be waiting.

AWFUL!!!!! I ordered a printer and was told it would be delivered by 12/6/06. I did not receive by 12/8, so I called customer service and was told they were out and did not know when they would have it in. They admitted that they had not sent any notification of that fact. Don't order anything you need by a certain date - they don't care!

Rebate Scam! BEWARE.
It's now 97 days since they received my completed form and other necessary paperwork. All information states that rebates will be paid within 60-90 days. Now they tell me to wait another four weeks. Does anybody think i'm going to buy anything else from this company? Stick to reliable vendors, and go for the instant savings, not Office Depot Scams. Incidently, the entire process of this purchase was a mess compared to dealing with other online merchants. Fouled up order, credit card charged for items not purchased. Next to no shipment tracking information available. Was called on the phone early on a monday morning to tell me my delivery would arrive on thursday which was 2 days later than promised. But they couldn't tell me the carrier. Delivery actually arrived on Tuesday, as originally promised, but I had relied on their information it would arrive on Thursday so i missed the delivery. Just avoid this company. They hold your rebate for eons. |

I had to wait over four (4) months for a rebate. Office Depot is a borderline con artist. I would strongly suggest OfficeMax or Staples. When you consider Office Depots price after "the rebate", their price is about average. Buy from another store and forget the (4) month rebate wait. Vote with your dollars and shop with other stores who care about their customers.

my last two orders have been cancelled without informing me, because the items suddenly became out of stock (they were in stock when I placed the orders.) but then, two weeks after cancelling the orders, they charged my credit card for the sale anyway. and they would not correct this; I had to contest the charge with my credit card company to get it removed. I will never order from officedepot.com again.

Their online site is easy to navigate. If you order over fifty dollars you get free shipping. I use their website to buy janitorial supplies mainly (paper towels, toilet tissue, trash bags, foam cups) and get pretty good prices and overnight delivery. If you order from them be sure to search the internet for coupons as they always seem to have a discount available usually a dollar amount like thirty dollars off of a one hundred and fifty dollar order. The bad thing about them is that on the items I buy at least, they've started replacing the national brands with their own office depot brands. They are actually not as cheap as the national brands, and their quality is not as good as what I used to buy.

Well, wish I could say something nice about them but I can't. Tried to buy a chair at their retail store in Encinitas, CA on Friday. After being jerked around for half an hour, it finally became obvious they didn't have the one I wanted. I was then asked to place an order at the back of the store & have it shipped to my home. After waiting another 15 minutes, the young man helping me had to admit their computers were locked up & he could not place my order. I asked for a rain check & he said "we don't do that." So I came home, looked up the chair online at their site & checked the price. It was going to be at least $35 more as opposed to buying it "in store." This was only the latest experience of numerous frustrations I've had attempting to purchase sale items from Office Depot. They NEVER have the sale items in stock & you can't get the sale price online. I give up.

WORST customer service. Never received the order eventhough the website status showed the item has been shipped. When I've called the CS they were still saying the item has been shipped. The item has never left the warehouse. Later on found out my order has been cancelled without notifying me all 3 times. The same problem happened continuously 3 times. I gave up and would never shop with OfficeDepot.

I ordered an mp3 player through their online store. A few days (maybe 3) later, status online said "Delivered", however, UPS never came. I called customer service and was told that the item was out of stock, therefore it will be cancelled and the charges on my credit card reversed. A few more days went by, I checked my CC account online and no credit processed, called OD Customer service and told that the mp3 was "Delivered" . I told them it was not and I was suppose to be given a refund. Rep. told me that she will put the request for the refund through again, which will take 8-10 working days to process. I wanted to talk to a manager and was told that "they are in an important meeting" and weren't available. I probably would not buy from this store again.

I've purchased a couple of pieces of furniture through these guys. They had a delivery scheduled on Aug 02, so my wife had to stay home that day and wait for delivery. Guess what - nobody even called. I contacted Office Depot so called "customer service" but didn't get any reasonable explanation or even apologies for inconvenience. On Aug 3 my stuff hasn't been delivered neither! The only answer I somehow managed to retrieve from OD representative this time, is that someone from their warehouse should contact me (which of course they never did). I cancelled the order.
I've been making almost all of my purchases on-line since forever and this is by far the worst experience I ever had. Obviously I will never buy from OD ever again and if you ever want to see what you have purchased I suggest you try your luck somewhere else. This entire company sucks! Pardon my French. |

Buying product was easy, they couldn't wait to take my money. But the rebate that they offered on the computer that I bought is a nightmare. They "mistakenly" rejected my mail-in rebate. And nothing would have been done if I did not call after 4 weeks. I was on hold for over 1/2 hour. This is what you can expect from them.

Finding a computer armoire is not an easy task! When I found one at office depot I was excited! I ordered on-line and actually received the product as promised. The problem started with the delivery company, which is not office depot. It is some company that delivers for them. My husband actually saw the delivery guy stand the box upright and push it over to where it smacked the ground. When confronted, he said that we could refuse the item. My husband called office depot to notify them of the incident and they told him that they had had several complaints about this delivery company. Another computer armoire arrived the next day with another delivery person thank goodness! This situation could have been avoided if the delivery guy would have cared about the product as much as I did!
The product is fine, no problems, except for the fact that the box tells you to open a certain way. The directions are on the very bottom. You would think they would put them right where you open the box so you can review them first. |

I will never shop at Office Depot again. My on line shopping experience was the worst and I shop on line (elsewhere) frequently. I ordered a digital camera for xmas that was to come with a free printer. 2 weeks later (2 weeks before xmas), I had not received the camera, but the printer was delivered and I was charged for it. When I looked on line at the status, it said both had been shipped. I thought the shipment of the camera must have gotten lost. Oh no, it was on back order they told me over the phone (so the website info on status was wrong). I explained I needed it for xmas and that the printer was suppose to be free with a rebate. Well, the rebate was with the camera which I had not received. To top it off, they told me I could not return the printer to the an Office depot store AND the lady on the phone told me she could not guarantee me that their warehouse would except my return. WHAT??? This was ridiculous! Please DO NOT SHOP AT OFFICE DEPOT!!!

Shopping at office depot is normally a pleasure, good selection, fair price, and good customer service. However I will not be shopping at this store again.... The problem began 12 weeks after shipping rebate forms, and requests to expressgroup, office depots rebate center. I sent 4 as requested, and made copies of everything, I double checked the addresses, and envelopes for completness, and then sent them. I received 3 of the rebates within 12 weeks, however the $110 rebate from office depot, never came. Calling the rebate center required great restraint, as the person on the other end of the phone, laughed, and said "we don't have it, what do you want me to do?" I now have to resend the info, and try again, and wait 6-8 more weeks for money. I might shop at the depot again, but will NEVER buy anything from them that requires a rebate....

After my last experience with them, I won't so much as buy a paperclip again! I phoned in an order, gave them a coupon. They accepted the order and said it would arrive on Tuesday. When it didn't I called and was told the order had been canceled. They never notified me of this! When I asked why, they said it was "short shipped." Meaning, out of stock.
What "short shipped" really means is "we aren't honoring the coupon." They told me the item was available now but they wouldn't give it to me for the agreed to price! I could have it at full price only. The poor customer service reps probably have phones ringing off the hook due to their management's lack of integrity! Never again! |

Being here in the Greater NYC Area , actually the Garden State, is a buyers dream. Having quality and price is vital.
Service is always another matter. Office Depot has good locations here and the online time from order to delivery is great. They DO PRICE MATCH. So yes always shop and compare. We do and on ePinions read what is written then look in consumer reports for more ideas. |

Purchased a Palm Tungsten T3. Never delivered. When I enquired, was told that there was a pricing error and the order was cancelled. When I complained, I was offered a non-comparable PDA at a slight discount. Very poor service.
